Ridiculous... you're willing to give Willy T 500 putrid AB's, but write off Burke after his slumping 68 (where is track record, in the bigs, shows much better #'s).

The Pirates must have THE BEST scouting report on our hitters... "the best, Jerry... the best."

Burke certainly has more power, but Willy T actually has a higher career OBP (though it's a miniscule difference), which is the most important aspect of a leadoff hitter. Plus, he had 30+ steals each of the last two years, and skipped AAA baseball and was forced into the majors before he was ready due to the Rule-5 situation. Given Burke's struggles as a center fielder, I don't think it's real clear yet who we'd be better off having in CF.

Give Burke the # of AB's that Willy T has had, and I guarantee he'll have a better OBP (especially if Burke gets to bat leadoff all those times... which he hasn't thus far in his MLB career).

Willy T has improved to be a better CF than when he first got here... doesn't mean he should be a leadoff hitter. He still projects to be more of a defensive replacement/pinch runner.

Back on topic, please. Last I checked it wasn't " Was the trade for Jennings Good?/Whose a better player?" That is being discussed elsewhere by the same people pretty much. Please keep it out of the series threads. In fact if you wanna start that thread feel free to do so.

Shocking that Ausmus would choke in that situation !!

He is the Rafer Alston of the Astros.

Ugh... if the game doesn't go 16 innings last night, no way Wandy is batting right here... UGLY UGLY UGLY week.

Ironically, if he hits the ball BADLY (ie - a double play... which he often does), we get a run.

He tries to shoot in in the air to the opposite field, and we get nothing. And now Wandy might be ready to implode.

Ironically, the last time we mounted a multiple run scoring inning in recent days was last night in the ninth against a pitcher with an ERA of 0.87. I even said to myself "we will tie the game right here against this guy".

Two errors in this inning? Way to go, Ashos!

Weird things here. Garner let Wandy bat with base loaded after 5 innings, then next inning Wandy lose the lead.... I dont know what to think, maybe I dont know enought of baseball yet, but I cant stand those things.

You can always count on Lamb for a poorly-timed error! Good thing he's making up for it with his bat

And there's example #489B why Mike Lamb is a poor choice for an everyday third baseman. Good job by Wandy, minimizing the damage.

Chris Burke looks lost at the plate. Dropping his back shoulder & trying to pull everything. He's been doing this for a couple of weeks.

We used every bullpen pitcher we had in a 16 inning game last night. Wandy was going to pitch a lot of innings today, good or bad.
