Okay so I am bored so i thought I'd come up with these comparisons, essentially i tried to compare two players (one who is currently a rocket, and the other one who use to be a rocket and who is still playin in the league or just recently retired)...and I would like to know who would you choose to be on our team and why

    1 Novak vs Boki (ROOKIE)

I would probably choose Boki. As much as I love Novak and his shot..he hasnt shown me the consistency I expected from him. boki on the other hand was at least atheletic

2 John lucas vs Mike Wilks
John...he is sometimes good, while mike wilks was totally useless

    3. Shane Battier vs Cuttino vs Posey
Battier for sure i love the guy (not much of a reason but I know you feel the same way)

    4. Head vs Barry
mmmmmm this is really really difficult, i would say the are both very good and clutch shooters, Head has the speed, while Barry has the IQ..If I had to choose I would go with HEad because speed is something we lack right now

    5. Chuck vs Cato
as much as I loved Cato when he was placed at PF next to Yao, I gotta give it to the Chuck wagon, he is an amazing specimen

    6. Big Jake vs John Amaechi
When they reach a certain level of suckiness, you cant really compare them

    7. Juwan vs Weatherspoon
Juwan has proven to be a great veteran leader....so I have to go with him even though Weatherspoon was pretty consistent IIRC

    8.Snyder vs Bogans
SNyder is more atheletic and has more potential

Come up with your own comparisons....

er..weatherspoon was crap in my opinion. Juwan is T-mac if you say Weatherspoon is an average player in this league

Haha, as overweight and ineffective as he was as a Houston Rocket, Clarence Weatherspoon once averaged 18 ppg and 10 rpg as a Philadelphia 76er in the 1993-1994 season. I even remember playing with him in NBA Jam back in the day!

yeah spoon was terrible...he's like a poor man's chuck hayes...all the girth, none of the hustle.

boki > novak > dan langi > karl malone.

    Kirk snyder > oscar torres.

    Bryce Drew > caroll dawson.

    that's all i got.

Weatherspoon was T-Mac back in Philly.

    1 Novak vs Boki (ROOKIE)

I would probably choose Boki. As much as I love Novak and his shot..he hasnt shown me the consistency I expected from him. boki on the other hand was at least atheletic

Boki - Hands down, the guy can dribble penetrate, dish, and shoot, we should have kept him instead of giving him away.

2 John lucas vs Mike Wilks
John...he is sometimes good, while mike wilks was totally useless

JL3 - But neither of them would make a difference in the playoffs unlike Boki.

    3. Shane Battier vs Cuttino vs Posey
Battier for sure i love the guy (not much of a reason but I know you feel the same way)

Battier - the guy just does so much for the team.

    4. Head vs Barry
mmmmmm this is really really difficult, i would say the are both very good and clutch shooters, Head has the speed, while Barry has the IQ..If I had to choose I would go with HEad because speed is something we lack right now.

Barry - Luther is crap, outside of hitting an outside shot, he can't dribble, can't defend, and can't pass....at least Barry can pass.....and Barry would have found a way to put his stamp on the first 2 games....Luther...not so much.

    5. Chuck vs Cato
as much as I loved Cato when he was placed at PF next to Yao, I gotta give it to the Chuck wagon, he is an amazing specimen

Chuck - Hands down...hustle and heart over height.

    6. Big Jake vs John Amaechi
When they reach a certain level of suckiness, you cant really compare them.

Big Jake, he can play more than John, and doesn't make the guys uncomfortable in the shower after the game.
    ;)

    7. Juwan vs Weatherspoon
Juwan has proven to be a great veteran leader....so I have to go with him even though Weatherspoon was pretty consistent IIRC

Juwan - He at least has some height and can hit the mid range game. Weatherspoon is eating doughnuts with Bonzi these days....

    8.Snyder vs Bogans
SNyder is more atheletic and has more potential.

Snyder - Even though he is not all that smart, he does some good things and is WAY more athletic than Boggans, we will need Kirk this year in the playoffs at some point.

I agree 100%, I think we are gonna win the title but if we had either 05 Barry or if we were able to pull off the Mike James trade and not have to play Luther I would gaurantee a title.

Better names to put up than those rejects (apologies to Boki fans):

    -Carl Herrera
    -Matt Bullard
    -Scotty Brooks
    -Sam Mack
    -Mark Bryant
    -Othella Harrington
    -Brent Price

    1. Not sure. You can't really judge Novak over one season.
    2. JL3
    3. Right now, we need Battier more than Cat or Posey.
    4. Luther. His basketball IQ will improve.
    5. Chuck all the way!
    6. Tsakalidis has his moments, and he's got a nice looking jumpshot. Amaechi...eh...
    7. Juwan
    8. Snyder

Out of your comparisons, I would take Cat of Battier. Cat is a pure two guard that could handle the ball, play pretty good D, and create his own shot. He is also a better shooter than Shane. Yes, Shane has his intagibles but Cat is a better player and he would solve the third scorer void very well when Yao and Tmac are on the bench.

Having Amechi could work out to our advantage. Guys might be scared or uncomfortable to post him up, therefore reducing points scored in the paint.

Between Battier and Cat, for this team right now I would say Battier.

But on past Rockets teams, I would say Cat, because we already had Jim Jackson who did the similar things as Battier, but was much better scorer, rebounder, and ball-handler.

I never got why JVG traded him for David Wesley.....

Houston is always making crazy moves like that

steve francis, he is the better player of all of them and probably the 2nd best passer after Rafer. and he has been an all-star in this league and was pretty good player for about 5 or 6 years.

    Hakeem Olajuwon - Yao
    Clyde Drexler - T-Mac
    Kenny Smith - Rafer
    Robert Horry - Battier
    Sam Cassell - Luther
    Mario Elie - Snyder
    Carl Herrera - Juwan
    Vernon Maxwell - Bonzi
    Chucky Brown - Chuck Hayes
    Pete Chilcutt - Novak
    Zan Tabak - Big Jake
    Charles Jones - Deke

If you compare our last championship team to this team, it is almost identical. Right down to a player going AWOL, and having the ageless wonders at backup Center.

I am just having fun, so don't take it literally.
