You're making it sound like it's the U.S. justice system...why does it concern you? Why the heck do you care? Do you make a habit of expressing 'outrage' over incidents of vigilante justice that is prevalent in some parts of Africa or countless other societies in the world? Do you understand that 'law and order' is anything but a given under even some of the more autocratic regimes out there? This is not in any way 'unique' to Iran, although I do understand why it's often the focus of some notable posters on this board and in the media given the current political climate, it's par for the course.

What intriguing is no one even knows the facts.

I love it how people condemn a whole country and backwards because it's easy to do. Or maybe it's what they really think and they just shape information to back up their jingoist view of the world.

And now more of the facts have come to light. That the victims were an engaged couple walking in the street, or a man who made some offense unknown, or a girl for adultry.

It's clear that this is very controversial in Iran, and isn't coming from the people, but an out-of-control leadership.

It's very sad. But I still think it's dangerous to judge the Iranians and it should be kept in mind that these are the acts of a fanatical minority. Hopefully this stuff will lead to their exit of power sooner.

It's like what would happen if the very far right wing of the republican party had control of the country. Wait. Nevermind.

do you understand that when people criticize the US...or Iran...they often times are criticizing the leadership?

people criticize the US for the invasion of Iraq. they're specifically criticizing the administration, usually. but they say the US.

    it's the same here.

not when you call a country a bunch of goat-herders. That's not aimed at the leadership.

I feel bad that someone took the law into their own hands and decided to be judge, jury and executioner. That's just not acceptable regardless of how disgusting the acts of the deceased may have been.

I'm not entirely sure why you'd focus on me. I expressed my opinion that it's not exactly something to be proud of that someone engages in vigilante justice.

I didn't express outrage here, I merely stated that vigilante justice is not something to be proud of. I think you need to take a break, man.

    It's irrelevant, that's all I am saying.

Who's proud of it? I am indifferent to it, that's all.

A clear case of state-sanctioned murder. The mullahs have proven to be no better for the average Iranian than the Shah.

Yeah that's like Imus calling Rutgers women's basketball team "Nappy Headed Hoes." and excusing it as just being humorous.

there's a difference between calling a small group of a few people nappy headed hoes and labeling an ENTIRE nation of MILLIONS of people as goat herders. But I guess that escapes you.
