I'm not doubting anyones information, but when i go to the mercury and contra times, i can't find anything on this. can anyone help me
I think a lot of Rocket fans are praising the Warriors for "doing the right thing." I disagree, the Warriors don't want him, they don't need him, he's not appreciated at all, and he will only cause trouble because he flat out doesn't want to play for them. And don't all you Warrior fans hate Jackson as a player and as a person? I bet a lot of you are hoping Jackson will be traded once he's eligible to be traded, which would work out for both sides, the Warriors getting rid of someone they don't want, and Jackson getting the hell out of that ass crap franchise.
GS is rolling the dice on their season. Jackson will determine whether they throw snake eyes, probably in 90 days. 'Sunk costs' is a difficult concept for some.
I can't undertand why on earth anyone is surprised... Even unhappy, he is an ASSET to them...in three months time, when some team out there is desperate for a big man, they can package him with one of their other guys and possibly get a starter (maybe even a former all star type etc) GSW would have been idiots to not do this... And Jackson will get over it...geez, he used to be a drifter in europe and and just got a $30M contract. The guy must be shattered...
With the following comment, I'm not sure who the violin is playing for? GSW, Rocks or both? Jackson said he'll probably rejoin Golden State on Wednesday, pending successful completion of a physical. "The funny thing when you do something to somebody that isn't right, it'll come back on you. The funny thing is they are going to try and trade me," he said. "But the funny thing is I have to consent to the trade. They didn't do me any favors, so what makes them think I'm going to do them a favor?" If he goes much further south on you gws, I'm not sure the offers 90 days from now will be that great. Charlie Ward may only be a dream. And as far as GWS image...don't look for any free agent signings for awile...a very long while. Sounds like you have a perinnial losing team with an owner and gm that could care less about their players.
AHAHAHAHA YES!!!! Trust me, guys. This just saved us big-time. Thank you, GS for taking Ike Austin Jr. and his nasty contract away! The Rockets are the big winners in this situation. Time for Cato to put out or ship out! btw- Don't hate the Warriors. They did the smart thing waiting until the end. The Rockets and CD are the real morons in this situation. Warriors fans, don't worry about the hate on this board. Manny, don't hate the player, hate the game!
Cant say I am surprised, the Warriors did what they needed to do and that was to not lose a big man for nothing. I dont think they handled it very well, but it is a business I have to wonder, if David Faulk would have been his agent could he have gotten the deal done? I feel very dirty for even saying that
crap, I miss last nights game,...sleep in and have this bomb dropped on me when I get on the computer......I can already tell it's gonna be a crappo day...
The milk is spilled. Time to wipe it up and move on. Give Collier a chance. He has looked pretty good so far. Cato is actually doing alright. Give Eddie a few minutes at the 5. Pick up a cheap backup (White for Williams; or 1 year Gatlin) and plan to get someone next year...
There's a lot more to the situation than most see. Jackson WANTED to test his free agent market value - moreso to make the Warriors aware of how valuable he was, thus overpay - but when no one made him an offer, he decides to downplay the Warrior's organization and talk about how "they didn't make him an offer". Didn't the guy ASK for freedom so he could test his value? Then, when the guy does get an offer, not only does he burn bridges publically, but he tries his hardest to make it seem like the Warriors tried to destroy him, when in reality, all the organization did was give him his wish and let him test his free agent marketability. Did he really expect the Warriors to bend to his will and kiss up just to acquire a slow mediocre PF. He got exactly what he asked for, free agency. To tell you the truth, I wouldn't doubt it if the Warrior's made an offer that wasn't up to his agents "standards". Now he's crying more about how "unprofessional" the W's organization is, trying to stir up more controversy by constantly going on about how much "management doesn't want him, and he doesn't wanna be here", but then he says he won't agree to a trade that will get him out of the place he supposedly doesn't want to play? This guy just didn't get his way, now he's crying, period. I think his delusions of granduer and constant media outbursts hurt him more than any Warrior's Management action(or lack of).
This guy just didn't get his way, now he's crying, period. Yep. If he had class, he'd shut up and concentrate on winning.
Golden State is stuck with Jackson now. He can not be traded for at least a year. So good move stupid Warriors.
You can try to trade him after 90 days but Marc can veto (and he has indicated he will) any trade for up to 1 year. After that he can go where ever they can move him. Only time will tell if this was a smart move or another GSW folly.
That would be Danny Fortson Dakota. This REALLY sucks for the Rockets. I am a little impressed with Cato and Collier so far, but still not very confident about going into battle in the West with them. I hate to be a sore loser, but if I saw Gary St. Jean right now, I would kick his A$$!!!!!!!! That's ok....I have faith that somehow, someway, this will come back to haunt that SORRY MF. Who does he think he is messin with our team? CD should've used the force on Gary St. Jackass.....
I say if GS tries to trade him to the a place like NY, he won't veto it. Especially if he's being purposely benched or something.
Good move by Golden State. As I argued before, they'd be stupid to let him go for nothing. Any revenge Marc Jackson tries to exact will just make his own situation worse -- he's just going to have to suck it up. Though it was a jerk-off thing to do to wait 15 days to decide. I wonder what the Rockets will do with their exception now? Actually, what I'm anxious to see is how Cato plays in his first game after learning that Jackson isn't coming. Will he be still strong on the boards like he has so far this preseason?
