the story sounds straight forward to me. but it's just one side, you're right. short of airbullard lying about the whole situation, it's just sounds like someone got screwed.

But the truth is an absolute defense to libel!

And the reason jurors aren't allowed to discuss a court case isn't because of libel.

Always, always, always hear both sides before deciding who's right and wrong.

I don't know these dudes, but I remember King of 40 posted his NBA League Pass username and password on the BBS once. What's League Pass, like 150? And he gave it for free? Maybe 60 dollars to him didn't seem like a huge deal.

I think airbullard shoulda kept it private.

i was with airbulllard like a minute after he received the call. we were on our way out to toyota center at like 6:50 from the chimney rock area when that guy called and backed out. i doubt Ko40A is going to post his side of the story cuz there's not much else to it. he agreed to buy the tickets at a certain time, airbulllard and i were on our way and would have met him at the time he specified, and he backed out.

Nonsense. He knows him from this community, and what takes place here should readily be shared if anyone cares to.

It's tough enough to assess who's for real and who isn't in a virtual environment. Sharing 'real' info just reduces the limitations of the virtual environment.

    Were these E-tickets, airbullard?

If so, KO40A, mentioned he was willing to pay online for them.

they weren't e-tickets, i had gone to toyota center before to pick them up from will call. i had them in hand.

didn't want to him to use paypal cuz he told me he wouldn't back out, there was no point in charging him extra with the paypal charges, and i didn't want him to pay just 100 and me have to eat the paypal charges.

i'm pretty sure he's not gonna post anything on this thread. there is nothing left to be said by him. i told the story the way it was. there is no other side to the story.

i don't care about how this thread may make 40 acres look bad, and in my opinion he deserves it. again, if anything in this thread is false, say something king of 40 acres, i dare you. i didn't keep it 'private' cuz i wasn't gonna deal with him anymore. i wasn't gonna email him or harass him. i was just venting to some fellow bbs'ers.

I don't see a problem with airbullard airing it out on the BBS. It could happen to someone else here so it's good to know. The only mitigating circumstance I could see (like Another Brother mentioned) is that he was a minor who's dad told him he couldn't buy the tickets anymore and had to get it from the box office. Still sucks but he's a kid. What are you going to do?

    This just got good.

I would pay admission to see these two belt it out.

Of course it must be in the legal confines of a boxing gym and supervised.

I will volunteer to manage the money.

Yes this is exactly what happened- my dad felt that we could have been getting some false/fake tickets- why not buy from the Box Office when they had just as good seats available.

But damn... I get back into Austin today and see there's a 5 page thread titled [Venting] Shady activity by poster King of 40 Acres-

First off, this matter concerns no one besides me and airbullard - it's great that he decided to get the opinions of fellow members but he’s really blowing the situation out of proportion. airbullard- If you had a problem with my actions then feel free to call me /e-mail me and we can talk it over and work something out.

When you purchase tickets to any event with the hopes of reselling them you take a risk that you will make as much money as you wished. You accept this risk. Same goes for someone who hopes to purchase tickets from a secondary source (ticket outlet or individual) – sometimes you have to pay more.

Again, I was at risk that you would back out / not meet up the same way that you were at risk that I would back out/ not meet up- it’s called mutual risk. This happens when you make ‘deals’ like this. I found a better deal dude, sorry if that hurt you / cost you money but it’s a risk you take. What if you sold the tickets to someone else for $120 - would I make a thread saying how airbullard was shady- no.. because I was at risk of this happening and would have been in the same situation you were in last night.

About giving you ‘my word’ look at your original thread titled 5 Tickets to Game 2 vs. Jazz - http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=127782

    Your first post states
Basically someone else had already backed out on you about the tickets- you said they were 'sold' but then they weren't. I happened to do the same but the only difference is that it happened on the day of the game. Something is sold when money exchanges hands and in our case this did not happen. Feel fortunate that I gave you a courtesy call after I purchased my tickets from the box office and just didn’t leave you stranded. Again, I apologize for finding a better deal but sometimes these things happen- now if you want me to make things right I’ll try and work something out with you privately but I'm done with this thread.

I'm not a kid I'm 22 but still my dad wasn't comfortable with the transaction- he felt that we were getting a raw deal and didn't feel like waiting around for airbullard to show up- He was taking me to the game last night so in the end it was his final call on whether or not to buy the tickets. I tried to explain to him that I had told airbullard that I would purchase the tickets and that I would be leaving him with 2 tickets but my dad just said that he would find someone else to sell the tickets to.

Well then I'm siding with airbullard on this situation. You might think this is something between you and airbullard, but I'm sure glad to know how you feel about these sorts of 'deals'. It's not like you were buying crack from him. Situations like that you expect shady activity from either the buyer or the seller. But this is a transaction between two CF.net members. If you felt like there was such a potential for shadiness between two members then you shouldn't have contacted him in the first place. At least then he could have sold it to someone on craig's list where the potential for this sort of thing to happen is a lot more real. But I feel like this BBS is a family of sorts and you don't treat family members like that.

Wow, what a lame excuse. "It's just a risk you take." Good luck finding anyone willing to sell to you again.

what a weak explanation, and turns out, you're still a dick. nice job.

it's a clutchfans member we're talking about. we're not talking about some homeless man off the street asking you to meet him at the game so he can give you your tickets.

granted, it's not like airbullard's integrity is set in absolute stone like the coveted "rockets box office", but i'd still trust a clutchfans member buying tickets 50 times over any bum off the streets.

You guys need to remember something, before you spout obscenities to Ko40A.

He didn't realize what he did was wrong. His dad felt uncomfortable and he honored his dad. This doesn't make it right and will certainly be a learning experience.

airbulllard learned something too - Don't assume that just because your transaction is with a ClutchFans member that it will be smooth.
