I just found out that I'll be headed to Nashville, Tennessee from June 15-June 17 for work but will end up having a lot of free time during my trip. So I am wanting information on any attractions around the Nashville area that we could go to during my visit. No country fans here and I know that is really big in that city and area but I'm not interested. Also where basic things like malls, restaurants, movie theaters, etc. are would be nice too. What neighborhoods or areas of the city should I avoid? Any other pertinent information that I need to know? Thanks a bunch.
Just took... my mom ... there this past February... (hey just trying to be a good 30yr old son) Lots of good things to see there: 1) Country Music Hall of Fame (<-- pretty decent even if you don't like Country) 2) Grand Ole Opry 3) Gaylord Opryland resort (<-- trust me, worth a visit, esp. since it's free) 4) Opry Mills (<--giant outlet mall right next to Opryland) 4) Vanderbilt University 5) Parthenon temple If you like history, I'd also strongly recommend the Antebellum Trail if you get a chance... Plantation of Andrew Jackson among other greats... Not really sure about the restaurants... My mom preferred Chinese/seafood, and Nashville was really the wrong place for it... Check out this site I guess: http://www.10best.com/Nashville/Restaurants/ http://nashville.citysearch.com/bestof/categories/
Head west on Hwy 70 to White Bluff, TN, and go eat at Carl's Perfect Pig restaurant. Tell Carl that Bill and Marsha from the Clear Lake Kroger says hi. http://nashville.citysearch.com/review/9316134
We just spent three days there in early April. Ours was a kid-centered visit, but you still might enjoy these: Opryland Hotel Nashville Zoo Discovery Museum
