<I>HOUSTON -- Free agent Marc Jackson won't be going to the Houston Rockets after all, a television station reported Monday night.

Jackson said Monday that Golden State has matched Houston's offer of a six-year, $24.37 million contract.

The Warriors had the right of refusal on the deal last month that would have sent Jackson to the Rockets.

"I can't believe it," Jackson told Houston television station KRIV. "<B>This is the worst case scenario for me</B>. Once I signed with Houston, I wanted to be with Houston. I think I made that perfectly clear."

Jackson said he'll probably rejoin Golden State on Wednesday, pending successful completion of a physical.

"The funny thing when you do something to somebody that isn't right, it'll come back on you. The funny thing is they are going to try and trade me," he said. "But the funny thing is I have to consent to the trade. <B>They didn't do me any favors, so what makes them think I'm going to do them a favor?</B>"

The Rockets reached an agreement in September with Jackson, who would have replaced departed star Hakeem Olajuwon at center. The Rockets traded Olajuwon to the Toronto Raptors.

Jackson averaged 13.2 points and 7.5 rebounds last season. The 6-foot-10, 270-pound player was a 1997 second-round draft choice out of Temple.</I>

    Now <I>that's</I> funny.

The rules of restricted free agency state that he cannot be traded to the Rockets until after one year. GS can trade him after 90 days to anyone except the Rockets but Jackson can refuse to go.

I hope MJ gives them hell for not letting him go.
Golden state better make roomon the IR for someone with a bad shoulder or something MJ's gonna love this making huge bank and not doing squat.

I still do not think this is done just yet:p

I have to agree with a poster in another thread. Jackson will probaby be glad to go to NY for Eisley and a draft pick or something like that, despite what he says. The key thing is minutes and a place.

Think about it for just a minute everytime he touches the ball in a GSW uniform fans will boo him like mad.
I think the owner will reconsider this maybe your right maybe he will step in.

Jackson keep complaining we might just get you yet :)

Last year I met jackson when he came to town and he was great a guy he talked very highly of Rudy and wanted to play for him.

Something will come out of this in the rockets favor!
Someone post a Jackson pic with a Rockets Uni on hhehehe cheer us up!:D

What's to say that New York will be willing to make that deal in mid-January?

I hope Jackson can do something to screw the Warriors over. Maybe if he can continue to complain and can cause problems in the locker room that will work. And then this would turn off other teams looking to trade for him and the Warriors would be stuck with the trouble maker. Then the Warriors are forced to waive him because of all the problems he's making, and have to pay him for the next six years while he signs a minimum contract for the Rockets next summer. Now that would be funny.

He still has to pass the physical.

    Rockhead,

You need to go into stalker mode. Track him down & whisper in his ear (be carefull how you do it though, people will talk. :D ) that if his back is hurting real bad or he can't squat down because he twisted his knee, he might fail that physical. Xrays don't show everything. :D
