I wish Yao could do that. I remember when he got that pass from SF3 one time and hit that open 3 down.
I think Harpring got a Mutombo elbow at half time, and he didn't seem to be much of a factor at the end minus a couple shots around the rim.
yeah they will make adjustment but comon how different can they get, they will run their pick and roll not like they will come out with triangle offense. They will double yao and tmac maybe switch players but after 2 games we should know what they are capable of doing and now they are at Utah so all rocket has to do is come out competing and not like 2 wins get in the way in their heads. Complete and fight with them grind the game out rocket style and dont make silly plays attack utah from inside out
Ya but i'd much rather have Yao in the post ringing up fouls left and right. Just look at okur vs yao tonight both statistically had bad nights shooting but Yao still gets a trillion more points.
we did have some adjustment, mostly on tmac, i expected tmac have a good game after game 1, and he did. tmac is more relax and comfortant now, on the other hand, utah is not playing like a team. this Jazz team can be a really good team if everyone is doing their things, that means boozer has to be a good inside scorer and excellent rebounder; okur has to be a good scorer; AK has to be a shut-down-super-star type defender; Dwill has to post up small and beat up big by speed. but now they are just a jump shotting team, everyone is worry about their own stuff, IF we can keep up the good defense we are playing right now, utah has no chance imo
The one adjustment I saw that I was really getting worried about was the double screens they were running to get Boozer open. That forced Yao to go through two people just to get to his guy and the way the call the game now-a-days, if Yao breathes on an offensive player, he gets a call. But in the second half, Yao did a much better job going around the screens and not losing Boozer. And one side note: You have got to love the way T-Mac is attacking the basket when the Rockets need to score.
Watching Okur and Boozer take turns trying to defend Yao is pure comedy. Not to mention Jerry Sloan’s brilliant tactic of using a 6’1 Derek Fisher to defend TMac. Then he tried to put a much slower AK47 on him in game 2, who got burned over and over again. Tonight Houston shot 36% from the field and still won convincingly. Good stuff. When Luther Head and Shane Battier pick it up in Utah, it’s going to be lights out.
The Jazz have no answer for Tracy McGrady, they have even less of an answer for Yao. Sooner or later Luther or Skip are going to have a hot game, hitting their 3s when we need them too, but I'm sure such heroics will unintentionally be saved for the end of the series. I also expect a pretty big game from Juwan and Deke at some point (or big for them I should say, Deke'll get a couple key blocks and some big rebounds when Yao gets in foul trouble later on... something like that). Still, I think the Jazz will get it together. They are a good team and a great home team. My prediction is that the Jazz are gonna take the next two home games, fired up by the home crowd and their woeful performances in Toyota Center, with Houston winning the next two, at Houston and Utah respectively. ...THEN ON TO THE WARRIORS!
In one of these road games, T-mac is going to light it up. Plus once the long ball starts falling, Utah will have problems. I'm predicting the Rockets are going to split these roads games with the Jazz.
Ahaha... as much as I want revenge on Dallas, getting Golden State in round 2 would be too amazing for simple words. I mean, I assume we'd be getting them, not sure if when the 8th seed wins they play the 5th seed like the 1st seed does, but I'm sure we won't have to worry about that... since the Mavericks can't lose to the Warriors, right? RIGHT?
The biggest adjustment they are making for game 3 is that they will be playing at home. Don't expect Okur and Kirelenko to be non factors there like they have been. They are too good of players to be useless for an entire series.
