Dear Fran: I know you do not care about what random sports fans think of you, and that it is your job to write what you think. I also know that I personally have been hard on you in the past in this forum, and I don't think you would notice or care. Although I would bet a dollar and a donut that you do read this forum. Anyway, just so you know where I am coming from, I do very much dislike your writing style and find it to be excruciatingly humorless and unsophisticated. Your chat, however, kicked it up a notch. I am very impressed with the disdain you can show to your own readership. "For the zillionth time..." "if you did not understand what I wrote about Phoenix..." etc. Really cranky and rude. Honestly, I would suggest you not do that chats. Are you forced to by your employers? Do you hate the chats? Do you hate your employers? That was a very unfortunate chat transcript, you would appear to have little patience for the individuals who read your columns. How very sad to read. Shouldn't you be at a point in your career where you do not have to endure doing things you hatee with people you have so little respect for? It is painful to read. Must be even worse to write.
if I had to repeat what I said over and over and over, I would be a bit cranky also especially when faced with having to answer to certain people who are clueless about the game and arent interested in established facts when it doesnt suit their agendas. that is by far the most frustrating thing about discussing sports on the internet...ppl who dont use common sense and logic and then call you the idiot for trying to correct them.

Your writing is easily much better than Fran's; and he does that for a living. In his chat as well as in his blog, he sounds like a bitter man who tries to overcompensate for his bitterness and lack of enthusiasm by trying to be a smartass to his readers.

wow what a great thread. i have read his stuff in the past. but living in austin there is no point. there are a handful of people on this site that post with more style and love for writing. and they do it for free. fran its ok if you look like an ugly woman. maybe you can trick a few lesbians into a one nightstand in the dark back at your place.
