Hater in the house...give the man a break for a day, we won, he almost had a triple dip, coulda made some more shots...but so coulda T Mac...pretty sure we'll win every game if him and Deron was a washout as it was tonight.

Couldn't have put it better myself...most accurate view of Skips game I've ever seen on here...it's so easy to see his flaws but you just have to look a little more to see the good things...excellent post Will

I think that job belongs more to Shane.

Speaking of which, did you see how he dove for that useless out-of-bounds knock?

Did you notice that 9 of those shots were three pointers??? His three point gunnery is 33 percent and I can live with numbers like that. If Rafer were in a run and gun offense where he could penetrate, Rafer would put up sick numbers. Instead, Rafer is the captain of the Rocket's offense. He sets up the plays and gets the ball where it needs to be. He has great ball handling and with Yao on the inside and T-Mac on your team, you don't have to score a lot of points or drive to the hole. In fact, I'd be willing to bet that JVG gets pissed off if Battier/Alston/Hayes/Howard don't look to
T-Mac or Yao as the first option. Rafer takes the shot when the clock is running down and Yao or T-Mac get collapsed on and kick the ball out to him for the shot. That is not going to be a high percentage shot. So Rafer's statistics are a bit skewed.

haha...I believe the term you're looking for is a "homeless man's" Jason Kidd then (stolen from Bill Simmons)

Rafer is passable to get us to Round 2 (if we win in the first place). But to win a championship? Can we really win a championship with Rafer?

He had a tough first half like a lot of the Rockets, but he played hard. He played better in the 2nd half.

It'd be nice if we'd support our players especially during a win. I wouldn't say I'm superstitious, but I don't think it's good to bash your guys especially during a good win.

Gosh some of ya'll need to stop hatin'. Rafer almost got a triple-double. He's the PG for the forseeable future, so live with it. We know his strengths, we know his weaknesses. Just support him, he's a Rocket. Go Rafer, good game!

Imagine if Rafer can improve his 3pt shot as much as Luther did over the summer. If he can turn into .400% 3pt shooter we are going to kill the NBA with our 3pt shooting. Imagine us having 3 guys shooting 150+ threes with over .400%

What bugs me are his quick 3 point shots with 20 seconds left on the shotclock ,those might as well be turnovers.

    Take your pick

    Take your pick

    Okay totally hypothetical situation...

Who do you want as pg..

Rafer 4 million this year, Antonio Daniels 5.4 million this year, or Fisher 5.8 million (btw he's going to earn 7.3 million in 3 seasons lol!).

I think rafer's a pretty good deal. He's a low turnover, and he's good at getting our offense going before the shot clock counter on our screens turn red. The knock on him is that he doesn't knock down wide open 3pters, but i see him as a pretty good pg for his salary.
