Honestly ya'll, this years rockets dont have a bench. 2 years ago, we were deep with mike james, jon barry, deke, bowen, comin off the bench.....we had games where we were playin like phoenix. We ran up and down, scored like 100 or more in like 8 str8 games.........they played exciting.....i love this years team and hope they do better! GO ROCKETS!

    whats your take?

In a surprising announcement today, George Bush declared Iraq had no WMVS. Also Scientology itself a scam.

Bowen? We basically had a three man bench, just like we do now. I think the 04-05 team just had a much more entertaining group. Jon Barry and Bob Sura were all heart and just plain fun to watch. There seemed to be more chemistry within that group, hence their cohesiveness (is this a word?) on the court.

Bottom line, I think the team is better now (mostly because of Yao's dominance and T-Mac's evolution into an all-around great player), but not as entertaining.

Are we all so anxious about this game that we are repeating the same comments/threads over and over again?

I believe in this team more than the 04-05 team

Unless of course, JVG suddenly brings back Ryan flying Bowen to guard Okur

    Hmmm let's see:

    Deke 04-05 = Deke 06-07
Juwan 06-07 > Bowen (of any season)

Depending on what you need, the Luther/Mike James debate could go either way. James was a better ball-handler and shot maker but Luther is a better shooter and a more clutch player. I won't even discuss the Mike James me-first factor.

With Barry you had a guy who could shoot but was a horrible defender so Head gets the nod over him easily.

Overall, I don't see how anyone can say this year's bench is weaker than the 04-05 bench.

I will trade a 2 years more experienced Yao over a bench that won't matter a great deal during the playoffs anyday. Remember, the 04 team wasn't as deep as you might remember. JH was out with a heart problem and we were starting Ryan Freakin Bowen in a number of playoff games. Not exactly dripping of depth.

mike james is the reason why our 05 bench was better than our 07 bench

McGrady and Yao are both better now, we have Battier, Juwan and Luther. Where we lack is at PG. We all know about Sura, and Mike James could come off the bench and create and score. I still would try to go after him again this offseason.
