I find nothing wrong with the voicemail. He is just a concerned parent. Alot of parents aren't involved in their kids lives and they end up doing illegal things. At least he cares.
it doesn't sound like him at all to me. why would he say her age and the date in the voice mail...i think its fake.
He did not exactly exemplify the qualities one would think belongs to "father of the year," at least in that voice message. In fact, I think in that message he displayed the opposite of what a "father of the year" candidate would do. I do not believe he should be father of the year.
Whether or not you think that calling your child a "thoughless pig" is not a big deal or not, the guy didn't even know if his kid was 11 years old or 12 years old. That was enough right there for me to know he is a piece of **** as a father.
take away "pig" and there wasn't much wrong with the call. what's more damaging is releasing the call to the public just to get back at an ex.
Not as bad as I thought it was going to be -- obviously there is more to the story. He shouldn't have used some terms like 'pig' obviously, but we don't have the full story. Releasing this audio is worse for the little girl than Baldwin IMHO.

I have 5 teenagers including 4 daughters who share the same bathroom and I call them all pigs on a regular basis. When kids leave dishes and towels laying around until mold starts growing, you get called pigs.
I can not believe anyone could defend this. It's not an indictment of him entirely....certainly we all have bad days we wish we could do over. But to defend it?
an 11 year old can be an arrogant and thoughtless pig. parents give their kids tongue lashings every once in awhile. and if that's the worse he's done, i don't see what the big deal is.

well my only question is...is he right? maybe she is a little-selfcentered-thoughtless devil child. And if angry voice mails is the worst she has to deal with then she's got it made.
It sounds like Kim and daughter are doing everything they can to alienate Dad. It also sounds like he has some real grievances against his daughter. It wouldn't surprise me if daughter is purposely trying to get Dad out of her life and her mom is all for it. When you have a parent who is trying and a daughter who isn't, what would you expect? Of course, that is just conjecture but why else would Alec say all those mean things? It sounds like it has been building up for a long time. Also, the facts are that Mom and daughter leaked this tape in defiance of a court order (from what I heard on the radio this morning). So, they obviously have an agenda.
Well, not knowing the whole story, its hard to say, however, if he's trying to instill some boundaries and truly be a parent, I can't argue with that...Now, his delivery may need some work...c'mon, she's 12, there is definitley a need to discipline...

its hard to imagine that the mom has not been working over the daughter a little and really hard to believe that the mother didnt release this tape
I remember my dad or my moms beating the **** outta me, there were many sticks, 1 to 2 inch thick that were broken, hehe today I am thankful I would not be there where I am without the things they have told me or teached me, some kids get it, some kids need to be punished to get some things straight, thats just my opinion parents, beat your kids!
