    Matt is a fan and a rockets homer... not that he can't be objective *waves* but he asks fan questions and JVG doesn't play that way. It's always comical... and I'm sure Matt knows its a little comical. Fine line between getting a great quote from him and pissing him off though... so nice work.

    ======

    Matt: Rafer says position doesn't matter (Translation, we can win it all, right?)

    JVG: Rafer says a lot of things.

    Matt: But Anyone can win IT , right? ( Loose Translation, cmon, we got this, right?)

    JVG: What Win It? Series, IT it? What ? Regardless... ahhh probably not... I'd say we've got odds of about the 5th seed with homecourt in first round. But yes, if you make me say it, anything can happen. We're going to do our best.

    ======

    I love when on 610 they all reflect on past JVG moments. He's been hard on them before a few times. He was patient this time... especially with MattJ dominating the questioning. Jeremy seems to revel in getting torched occasionally.

    And of course the other dude looked bored. He WAS bored.

    JVG just loves to argue against cliches like "everyone has the same chance once playoffs start."

    and he's right most of the time.

    anyone can win a series, but teams like the warriors, magic, and wizards probably won't win more than one IF they even get that.

    being negative and critical is important because it always shows that theres room for improvement.

    JVG is striving for perfection and you gotta appreciate his love for the game.

    But what if all this shameful critique is deteriorating the Rockets confidence slowly over time?

    who's losing confidence? shane, tmac, yao? doesn't look like it.

    what about everyone's scape goat, rafer? gundy has had his back all season long.

    you're right smoothie...

    JVG has had Rafers back and i had a chance to hear on 610 from Gundy not too long ago about it. I was happy to hear from JVG that he thinks its dumb to think he's not an asset.

    but what i'm trying to say is...is the critique making the rockets focus on what's weak about them instead of enforcing what they're strength is?

    i mean, yeah it may not look like we're losing confidence. but subconsciously could it be affecting us in a bad way....subconciously?

    take phil jackson for example...zen like approach and it won him championships, alot of them...yeah he had talent....but he was their coach.

    so when the rockets have a good win and great game...it's not a surprise to hear JVG talking about what we didnt do to win better.

    So back to the drawing board we go.

    Matt could've been digging for some motivational insights since Jeff coached that 8th seeded finals team. Notch one for Jeff the realist...

    you have a point but we don't know what's going on behind the scenes. our team lose big leads in games because they get comfortable. maybe jeff is keeping them from inflating thier ego's after a big win. it's no secret that this team plays soft when they think they are gonna win.

    jeff has a very nice balance IMO. he will tell the media "we played a nice game. we did a lot well, and there are things that we need to improve upon."

    no team finished a game without making any mistakes. he tells it like it is.

    Not sure if you have control of this, but I've noticed the sound for the vids on Click2Houston is very low. Just FYI. The vids are awesome otherwise!

    Jeff,

    I don't have any control over that. I've talked to them about that just yesterday. The site is actually run by IBSYS and I believe they are in charge of the video player design. I pointed out that there is no audio control on the player but, like I said, there's nothing locally we can do about it right now.

    Maybe if enough people email Click2Houston they can pass it along. Go to this link and send the email to Click2Houston: http://www.click2houston.com/contact/index.html

    They web people told me they've gotten some good feedback from the long Rockets interview. I was told that a Rockets fan from Indiana was happy because they could see more of their favorite team this way.

    The Rockets practice this afternoon so keep checking back for player sound today. Also, I got something in the works with some old Yao video that you all will get a kick out of. That'll be sent to YouTube later today.
