Oh come on what are you talking about Labs are awesome. Nothing like blowing stuff up.

Maybe it's just me. I have a chem teacher who likes explosions. Here are some of our experiments on video: http://www.allatoms.com/Movies.htm

A couple of the students at my school are trying to get Analytical Chem added as a third year chemistry class. I think it would be fun.

Apparently English. Took? TOOK? Perhaps 'taken' would be appropriate.

Once, in organic lab, we were doing an expiriment that required ether. We were all using hotplates to avoid open flames, but one kid had his turned up too high and it burst into flames. Everyone freaked and ran out the room. The prof was not in there at the time. I stopped at the door and grabbed the fire extinguisher and went back and put out the fire. Afterward, all I could think of was how stupid it was to walk into a room with 14 expiriments containing ether and one open flame burning.

It was stupid, but cool now that I can relate it after all these years.

By far the most difficult class I ever took was Accounting 1. By itself, on a normal basis, this would not be too difficult. However, my class was a summer night class lasting 4 or 5 weeks. Each class was 4 hours long, and we had it twice a week. In addition, there was around 5 hours of homework per class period.

I was also working 20 hours a week, but having to drive about another 20 hours just to get there and home. Then, I was taking another class at 7:45 to 9:45 every day during this time, I was in this student group, and I was in over my head in a stupid relationship that was so much work it was like having another job . . .

The class began with 9 people. Our professor said "This class WILL be the hardest one you take in college. It's usually fairly difficult, but since it's a summer night class, it's going to be harder, and then, I'm going to make it even more difficult just so you don't slack off"

One girl dropped in the first 20 minutes. Six others dropped by the next period. We ended up with two students, and it was even more difficult than I could have imagined. I'd wake up, go to class, then go to work, then come home, work on homework, then go to class, work on homework, then sleep for like an hour before the next day. I got to a point where I'd be sleeping about 20 minutes every night, and that was it. It's the only class I've had that pushed me to what was a conceivable limit. I've never been so tired and worn out as I was at the end fo that class.

In the end, I got an A, and I've never been so proud of a grade before.

    :) I would've gotten an A+ if it existed :)

Manny -- judging by the topic of this thread, my guess is that you're toughest college class is English . . .

I assume this thread refers to undergraduate courses?

The only class I ever failed was Intro to Philosophy my Freshman year, and that probably had something to do with the fact that I only went to that class 5 times that semester. The most difficult class was probably Knowledge Acquisition, but that was pretty straightforward, too. Just alot of small, time-consuming projects.

Graduate level, that would have to be Quantitative Futures Methods. Trend extrapolation is a pain in the a*s.
