http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/playoffs2007/series?series=uthhou All five picked Rockets, they think we win in 6 or 7, should we finish in 5 to give them a suprise?
I'd rather hope them hate us. Too many praise before the critical games is not a good thing. Let's calm down, respect the Jazz and try to win them.
I think what we can count on JVG to do is keep the guys in check and you can bet they will come out like they on 10:1 underdogs. Though I love Rudy this is the type situation Jeff excels in.
well this would probably be the only series the rockets are favored in if everything goes as expected.
Utah beat us 3 games to 1 this season... so as far as we should be concerned we are the underdogs... unless your a rockets fan...most people seem to dislike the Rockets more then any other team...
funny...when analysts pick us to lose, everyone loses their nuts screaming, "No respect!" then, when they pick us to win, it's all "Oh, i wish they would pick us to lose b/c i like being the underdog."
The grass is always greener on the other side. Me, I'd rather be the underdog. I always root for the underdog, except in this case.
the darkhorse of the playoffs usually is at least favored in the first round... then is believed to have a good chance at an upset in the second round or farther. no one is picking the magic as a darkhorse because they aren't getting out of the first round.
I remember mike james said he could win a championship in minisoda.. hehehe. where u now mike james? got replaced in the lineup by a rookie playing on a crappy team...
I don't think this is true. I rarely experience anyone hating the Rockets. Charley Rosen maybe...but even he is singing a different tune lately. The Rockets have been consistently ranked in the top ten on all the power rankings and spent quite a bit of time in the top five. I've seen them ranked as high as three for a brief period when we were gaining on the Spurs. The Rockets are a respected franchise and they've gotten plenty of love. No need for us to be the victim. No one objective should pick us to do anything beyond the 2nd round. If we want to change their minds, there is only one way to accomplish that.
who cares what any analyst thinks. id rather they all think we'll get swept in the first round, then we win the title.
It was all 6's when I saw that this morning - except for Hollinger, who had us in 5. I wonder why they revised their predictions?
If you guys still need an "ESPN" chip on your shoulders, consider that the Rockets v Jazz series is ranked 6th out of eight series from most intriguing to least. That means our series isn't that intriguing, I think this is the slight you are looking for.
