Once again the Rockets are overlooked. Why is it the rockets get no respect? :(

I'm not too worried...Just so it doesn't carry on into the regular season...

You know, I'm APPALLED at the lack of coverage of women's volleyball by ESPN...I'm writing them a nasty e-mail this minute :D

The game was in Kansas City, but still, that's no excuse for a lack of coverage. I've been looking everywhere on the net for a box score of this game, but to no avail. I'm glad I ran away from the g/f tonight to watch this game; otherwise I'd have a very incomplete picture of what happened. With this, and no coverage in our own newspaper, it's almost like this game never happened. (Though I'm grateful it did, it was worth every bit of trouble I'm going to get into with the g/f)

I was just stewing over the same thing. I went to NBA.com as well, but I couldn't find a scoreboard page. The only page I went to had schedules listed. Of course, NBA.com does have a prominent link to the Wizards game recap on the front page. God, that's so annoying. I really want some stats. Anyone have any suggestions. Are the NBA.com stats really obvious and I overlooked them?

The issue is equal treatment. They covered all the OTHER games, so why not ours?

How about those 21 combined assists by Francis and Mooch, with only 4 turnovers.

Yeah, it would be nice to see Francis' assists go up this year. The team shot well, 48%. I wish I knew what the 3pts m-a were, along with blocks.

Here is the page where you can send a comment to ESPN. I say we all send them letters to let them know that missing a game is totally unprofessional, or however else you'd like to put it. :)

Here's the AP recap taken from the Yahoo Sports page... nothing special...

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Terence Morris and Oscar Torres each scored 18 points to lead the Houston Rockets to a 98-85 exhibition victory Saturday night over the Detroit Pistons.

Kenny Thomas added 17 points, and Steve Francis had 12 for the Rockets.

Houston led 69-64 going into the fourth quarter and expanded the lead to 78-64 with a 9-0 run.

Detroit cut the margin to 89-85 on a three-point shot by Chucky Atkins with 2:38 left, but the Rockets sealed the victory by scoring the final nine points.

Detroit was led by Jon Barry with 16 points. Jerry Stackhouse had 14, Victor Alexander added 12 and Zeliko Rebraca had 11.

Detroit led 40-37 at the half, but Houston outscored the Pistons 32-24 in the third period.

Francis had eight points and five assists in the third quarter.

Man, the coverage of MJ is going to be absolutely insufferable this year. I can hardly wait.

I agree entirely, Jeff. I want to blast ESPN and everyone else for focusing so much on MJ except they're right to do so in that most people really are interested in MJ, second, or not second to the teams they follow. But man, is it annoying.

Stackhouse had a poor game. Anyone know who was guarding him most of the time?

Maybe the media doesn't give us enough respect, but the league gave us the medical exception while the Knicks got jack. I personally couldn't tell a difference between Mo Taylor's and Larry Johnson's circumstances, but I'm not complaining.

Oh, and I couldn't care less about Micheal Jordan's comeback.

I didn't like him the first two times he was in the league. I know he is the best SG to probably ever play, but that doesn't mean I like him.

stop yer cryin...the nba does this to every team a few times in the preseason. key word is PRESEASON. its not a lack of respect. you actually think, in some office room in connecticut (or whereever espn is located in), that there are espn guys talking with their internet guys...

"hey time to put up the nba recaps for tonights preseason game"

"yeah ok...will do? same as always i assume, right?"

"pretty much...NO WAIT! ignore the rockets-piston game. dont put anything up for that game!"

    "why"

"cuz we hate them - the rockets are lame. lets piss of their fans."

comeon. theres going to be a legit reason why the recap isnt up. dont forget, espn LOVES you guys - #9 preseason ranking!?!?
