Could anyone out there just imagine the posibility of a fair league. The NBA records books would be a lot different, There would be different champions than what they are listed as. We would not have paper champions like we had this year and years past. If the league was fair here is how things would looked since the 90-91 season.

90-91 NBA finals Bulls vs Blazers
91 champions Bulls / Blazers should have in that years finals but the NBA wanted magic vs jordan

91-92 NBA finals Bulls vs Blazers
92 champions Blazers/ Blazers would have won this series but questionable calls changed that

92-93 NBA finals Bulls vs Rockets
93 champions Rockets/ Rockets were clearly cheated vs the sonics in west semis and would have beat the tiny suns in west finals but NBA wanted Barkley vs Jordan

93-94 NBA finals Pacers vs Rockets
94 champions Rockets / Pacers were clearly cheated vs the Knicks in east finals but still would have lost to the Rockets

94-95 NBA finals Pacers vs Rockets
95 champions Rockets/ Pacers cheated vs magic but would have lost again to high powerered Rockets

95-96 NBA finals Bulls vs Rockets
96 unknown / Rockets would have made to finals but unfair sheduling and non illegal defense calls cost them vs sonics in west semis, Rockets would have beat jazz and it would have been a great series vs bulls

96-97 NBA finals BUlls vs Rockets
97 champions Rockets/ Rockets were clearly robbed vs Jazz and would have won it all.

97-98 NBA finals Pacers vs Spurs or Lakers
98 champions Pacers/ Pacers cheated vs bulls

98-99 NBA finals Pacers vs Spurs
99 champions Pacers / Pacers cheated vs knicks

99-00 NBA finals Pacers vs Blazers
00 champion Pacers / Blazers and pacers cheated vs lakers

In 93 Bark and the Suns would of beaten the Rocks. The Suns weren't like the Lakers, they climbed to the Finals by steamrolling the leagues best. If Johnny Paxson didn't hit the 3 then Chuck would be wearing a ring right now.

Barkley would not have beaten the Rockets in '93. Although Barkley was the MVP, Hakeem was the better player. It would've been a close series, just like the '94-'95 semifinal matchups between the teams were. Houston matched up better with Phoenix than Seattle did.

While I agree with the basic premise of you argument, there're some variables that might need to be accounted for.

    1) If Clyde gets his ring in 1992, I don't think he would have wound up here, at least not in 1995. Remember, the main reason he came to Houston was that he was hungry for a ring and he knew the Blazers were going nowhere and his years were numbered.

    2) As much as I think the Rockets could have taken the Bulls in '93, I'm not so sure we could've gotten by Phoenix. Horry was merely a rookie and we didn't yet have Sammy and Mario-two huge reasons for our back-to-back titles.

But as for the overall fairness issue, if it was enforced since 1995, we could've won at least three titles, and if Chuck didn't go down in Game 4 vs. Utah in '98, we'd have four.

But alas, the NBA isn't fair so we just have to deal with it. Who knows, maybe Stevie will become one of those few players like Hakeem that could overcome biased officiating.

AntiSonic, Great post I am glad to see someone posting something with sense instead of someone posting foolishness like Criscokid saying I am mantreoonix.
Antisonic you are right about Drexler coming to Houston because he wanted a ring but I still think he would have asked out of Portland to try and get another title because the guy is such a competitor just look at Pippen he knows he never earned a ring and wanted to earn 1 in Portland. You say that the Suns would have beaten the Rockets in 93 and that is not true, The Suns should not even made it past the 1st round cause they got every last call in those 3 final games vs the Lakers and if the Sonics took the Suns to 7 then why wouldent the Rockets do better than that when they were better than the Sonics depite faulty calls. The Rockets would have beaten the Suns then take out Sterns Bulls. For 98 I felt the Rockets were cheated vs the jazz it should have been a clean sweep but injuries would killed them in the 2nd or 3rd round vs the Lakers or Spurs.
Freak, Isnt it something that Hakeem was really the MVP 93,94, an 95 but only has 1 trophy to show for it, Pretty sad but we all know who was the MVP those years.
