I will be graduating from UH this December with my B.B.A. in finance. I'm wondering what sort of job opportunities there are in Houston. I do have one connection who will be of great assistance in finding a job, but the more opportunities, the better. Hey, I have another request: I'm in the process of creating a "Help Page" for finance students. The URL is: dreamer88.50g.com/Finance/Finance.html I've just started on it, but I'd like any suggestions or comments. I started it because I've been a T.A. for a finance professor going on 4 semesters, and I like to help people learn the stuff. I have a knack for explaining it in terms most students can understand. I actually like to teach, but that is not something I'm considering for my short-term goals. Also, I haven't been able to find much in the way of help for finance topics in my expansive search of the internet. I'm hoping to provide a web site that students can come to when they hit a roadblock and can't understand some financial topic. Anyways, check it out, and lemme know.
I do plan on taking the C.F.A., but I'm not sure when. In my Investments class we're basically just reading straight out of a "Series 7" manual, and it seems to be very basic stuff.
Hey that's a cool idea...about the web site you're thinking of making. I did something like that with my classmates for MIS students...it will definitely be a good help for finance majors. I checked out ur resume...pretty impressive GPA i must say...My gpa sucks...haha I'm a finance major from UT (MIS minor), actually just graduated this spring...had a job in San Fran as Fin Analyst, but got laid off...bad timing... I think it's pretty easy to contact companies these days since you can check out the company's web site for contact info. Many companies are starting to require online applications so...Or use one of them job search sites (monster, hotjobs, etc)...
