Where can I get Windows XP Home for cheap?

    Im buying a new hard drive and want a clean install of Windows XP Home. The version Im using right now is W98SE :eek: .

    Ive looked on eBay and stuff like that but everything is around $80+.

    Any advice on where I can find it cheaply?

    Go to colleges, and pay some student to get the OEM version for the universities. They cost about 20 bucks.

    Thats kind of like paying someone over 21 to buy you beer when you were 17. :D

    Im surprised that the price hasnt dropped because of Windows Vista..... at least that was what I was hoping for....

    Well I know this guy down in Washington Square that sells used computer books on the sidewalk and could probably hook you up if you asked right.

    with XP it does pay to have a legit copy. any updates and you have to verify your license.

    80 bucks is pretty cheap. and really, xp is worth the money.

    Actually it is $5. Or at least when I was there a while ago. I don't think they have Vista there as yet.
