This is basically the same idea as m_cable's random video thread, but for video games. Lately, I've seen a lot of nice screens and/or videos for games like Resident Evil 4 Wii, RE:UC, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, FF7:CC, Mass Effect, Lair, Forza 2, The Darkness, etc., but they didn't deserve their own threads. Hopefully, this can be the place to post that kind of stuff, and you guys don't have to resort to going to IGN or wherever (although I suggest you guys go to those sites to download the HD versions of these videos whenever possible). I don't want to take all the good videos, so I'll start off with just one for now. Wow. I got over Super Mario after 64. I sincerely doubt that the Nintendo gamers they seek even care for the character. Nintendo got it wrong, IMO. They are still a force. And Wii is kicking the gamres market. But it is only because of affordability, along with a really coo novelty controller. That said, I think most of us older gamers prefer more realistic games. ie. sports or other. I'll be a big nerd and admit that, to me the FF series seems like a novel that you have to earn.
Both the Mario games and the FF series are two of the biggest in video games. And the average gamer is in the late 20s, I believe. So yeah...your analysis of what 'older gamers' want is a little off.

Alright guys, Im gonna apologize for this in advance. I used to be into video games big time up until about 3 years ago. I then started grad school and never really had enough time to play anything. Therefore, I literally went almost 3 years without touching a controller. Im proud to say that with my schedule getting less hectic, Im back in the game. But, Im also out of the loop. I bought an XBOX 360 last week along with NBA 2K7. However, Ive also ordered Call of Duty 3 and Rainbow Six: Vegas. Anyone know anything about these two games? Good purchases? Bad? Will I get tired of them quickly or is there lots of playability? Any info would be appreciated. Im hooked again and it feels damn good.
Based on impressions I've read, those seem like solid games, particularly if you play online. I'd recommend getting Gears of War though. It would be (considerably?) better than both of those games, at least that's the impression I get. If I were you, I'd probably switch out COD3 with Gears (R6 Vegas is probably a few notches better than COD3 from what I understand). It isn't like those games are bad, it is just that Gears of War is REALLY good. Maybe you should get all 3. RC, thanks bro. Thats right, I totally freakin forgot about Gears of War. Crap. Oh well, I got COD3 brand new on EBay for only 27 bucks, so I dont mind too much. Will definitely look into Gears of War. My social life is about to become nonexistent...unless you count playing online as being social.

The Ninja Gaiden demo is one of the funnest most fulfilling games I have ever played. I am in awe. Maybe its the nostalgia.

Fracture looks crazy. It needs some work, but it is an interesting concept that could create for some great gameplay.
