How many of you get the Direct Tv "Sports Pack"? This includes FOX SPORTS NET. Do those of you living here in Houston get the Rocktes HOME games on there without any problems (on Direct TV)??? Or is this blacked out like the NBA League Pass games? Please help. Thanks.

I have the Sports pack. I live in NJ and if the NBA League Pass has a Knick or Net game on, it is usually blacked out on NBA League Pass and shown on the local fox sports channel (or whatever your cable system has as the local channel). I would imagine that the same would apply to the Rocket games in Houston. I think that answers your question.

Occasionally, if the Knicks or Nets are playing on League Pass and the team they are playing is doing the broadcast (ie. if they are playing LA and the LA station is doing the game), I will still get the Knick or Net game on League Pass.

    NJ,

I'm still a little confused. If I have the Sports Pack, which includes Fox Sports Net would the games still be on there? In Houston the Rockets home games are shown on Fox Southwest.

Again, I'm talking about the Direct TV Sports Pack and not the NBA League Pass.

    Thanks for the reply.

i live in galveston and I have the league pass, sometimes i have to watch the Rockets on the local affiliate for some reason. As far as the other teams, i get all of those no problems. Last night I watched ind-atl, nj-ny, was-det, mil-mia, hou-dall was on the fox channel. sometimes even with league pass you have to check the fox set-up

Again, I'm not talking about the NBA LEAGUE PASS, just the SPORTS PACK which includes the Fox Sports Net. If I have Direct TV and DON'T have cable with Fox Sports Net am I screwed??

If you have DIRECTV, and subscribe to the sports pack but NOT League Pass...then I think it depends on your local blackout rules. If you have both League Pass and the Sports Pack, then I am fairly certain that you will not miss a game and you do not need to keep your cable.

If you dont subscribe to League Pass, I would keep your cable just in case.

yes you will get screwed if you don't have fox sports net. you need fox sports net to see rockets home games. but all of the direct tv packages(most anyways) include the regional fox sports network, or FSSW for us in houston.

I live in Houston and my cable co. is U.S. online. Fox Sports Net was blacked out last night and it really chapped my ass. Was I the only one with this problem?

Rockets home games on Fox Sports Southwest in Houston should not be blacked out.

Ok, just so I'm sure about it: The FSSW on DIRECT TV would NOT be blacked out? Did you see last nights game on it? Again, if I have Fox SW on DIRECT TV I should be able to get the home games on DIRECT TV ???

    Thanks again for your patience.

    Old School,

I have had Direct TV for the last 5 years without any special sports package and I have never missed a Rox game that was broadcast . All the games here in the Houston area are on either FSSW or whatever local station they are using this year.

I have never had a blackout on regular season games....
once in the postseason all bets are off.

Hope this clears it up for you.

    hmmmm...
hell if I know what its called...I never look at the bills and I've had the package for the last 4 yrs.

its basically the basic channel lineup with the addition of the HBO\Cinemax and Starz\Encore package.

    or to clarify that,

I have all the channels except for Showtime\TMC pack and no extra sports packages...cost about 65-70 bucks a month.

    HTH........but i doubt it :)

I have the same hbo/cine/starz/encore with basic channels...no sports package. I see all home games, but I need to switch to my antenna for away games bc Direct TV doesn't have upn! DOH! On top of that I get the league pass, which is something I probably shouldn't have done since it prevents me even further from having a life!:D

    LOL!!
I hear ya...Its a good thing I work fulltime and go to school and have family responsibilities...or else I would have League pass and no life also!

i had to go buy a powered antenna for my TV so I could get the locally broadcast games in....it always looked like they were playing in the snow without it!:)

    Rockets2k,

So when you responded to OldSchool, you mean that you never missed any Rocks games because you picked them up off of your antenna?

No...I never missed them because of a combination of the DTV and antenna... Around here, some games are on FSSW and some are on local affiliates.(UPN these days I think)
