You left out Tyronne Lue. Look at what he's doing in the league now.

The rockets have had crappy pgs, Just because rafer is decent compared to those on that list, doesnt mean he shouldnt be replaced next year.

I'll take Kenny Smith, John Lucas, Steve Francis, Bobby Sura, Mike James. Matt Maloney almost makes the list

If Rafer can continue to shoot well in the playoffs it would be huge. If he plays like he has been lately, we can do some damage

Unfortunately, I doubt he will (but I hope he does)

Thread title is misleading...you meant in Rockets history, but we have almost consistently had bad pg's

Agreed. This thread is really a back-handed compliment to Rafer. "Hey, the Rox have had some really awful PGs and Rafer isn't awful!" The problem with Rafer is the inconsistency in shooting and decision making. if he played the way he did tonight every night, we'd be darn near unstoppable. Sadly, he just doesn't. Here's hoping Skip's playoffs look like tonight's gama and we'll be just fine.

    are you dumb or something?
if he was that good, we would never have been able to get him for 4mil a year.

We're the only team with 2 superstars and people still want another all-star at the PG position.

Please Skip, sign an extension and retire as a Rocket. Then when your jersey is hung in the rafters, you can lie down center court upside down so all your (BBS)critics can kiss your ass.

Kenny and Bobby would do well.

JL no, do you recall how we lost him in the first place? James and Francis would destroy this team's chemistry; Rafer captains this offense more than some of you realize.

Maloney at PG? Not even remotely close.

Dumb??? Excuse me??? First of, having a different opinion than your does not make one dumb. Second, the argument you make IS actually dumb. We could have signed Mike James for ME money (about equal to what Skip makes) for a shorter number of years - thus cheaper in total. Plus, pay and performance are only generally linked in the NBA unfortunately. Why would people make millions writing books like the Wages of Wins? But I won't be so insulting as to generalize your dumb post to the rest of your person. I am saure there is a chance that you acyually aren't dumb. Perhaps your just ignorant.

Hell, if Skip could give us what he gave us last night every single night, then he most definetely is one of the best PGs out there. Except, games like these seem to come once every two months or so. =/

Rafer is average. He's not terrible, but he's not "good."
