You can't coach hands. But I think Cato rebounded pretty well and can be a backup to Marc Jackson if we do get him.
He still seems to be playing lazy. If all he did was dunk and rebound with some blocks, I would be happy. They need him to finish strong all the time and do dirty work. I hope we get Jackson so Thomas can go back to the bench.
Hey! slcrocket is back! How's it going on your mission? You should post a new thread in the hangout; your return will be overlooked in a Cato thread.
Just finish the plays is what I want out of Cato. Once the season starts or we progress this preseason, if we do get Jackson, Thomas will be on the bench. With the way Cato fouls, we will see Griffin-Jackson more than people think. I don't think Collier will get a lot of run this year either. Just my opinion, don't get upset Kenny Thomas fans.
ThunderCato??? - I don't think so - He did this bullcrap last preseason by blocking shots and dunking. In the regular season he will get schooled. He will never be in better shape than "Pre-season" shape. Do not get excited about anything Fatso does in the Pre-season. If you don't get your hopes up then you can't be let down. Expect to get 5 pts. average from CATO. Also, he was not as effective on the boards last night as he should have been. Marc Jackson, please help!
I don't think Cato will be shooting too often (let's hope he doesn't try too many hook shots this season), and I doubt many plays calling out his number will be ran, but he has been doing a fine job of getting open right underneath the basket (nice cuts to the basket without the ball), and if he keeps his eyes open, he should get a lot of dunks this season. Offensively, that's all that I want from Cato ... I think he's gonna fit in just fine offensively. I'd like to see him work his butt off on defense, which I think he'll do. A big defensive guy plugging the middle is worth the size of contract Cato has ... especially if he can come up with double digit rebounds, and finish up those easy baskets. Offensively, it's entirely different from the Dream days. With dream, we were an inside-out offense. Now, we're more of an outside-in offense, with the plays starting in the hands of the guards, so I don't really expect too many post up moves from Cato ... just some monster dunks!
I think Cato did a good job of changing alot of shots last night. He needs rebound some and move a little more without the ball to get more dunks. I didn't like how our guards were settling for a three instead of penetrating and dishing it out.
