If so, please regale us with your thoughts.

Nobody likes hearing vacation (or extended-time-away) stories, but here I offer a place to share yours.

Went to Sydney a couple years back. Absolutely gorgeous city with some pretty neat things to do. Also went to Cannes which was an amazing experience in itself.

I guess if you're going to make the trip to Sydney, you have to visit Cannes and the Great Barrier Reef. I wouldn't say going to Sydney alone is worth the trip all the way to Australia.

Listening to them was pretentious 5 years ago. Listen to Tenhi instead.

You're ridiculously pretentious for just saying that. ;)

Ahh...my "indie enthusiast" days are SO over.

Aberdeen ... in Scotland ? Yeah I've been there and i don't recommend that place at all !! This city is Grey and dull ! Try Edinburgh and Glasgow along with the Highlands if you are going to Scotland !!

Nothing much to see in Dundee man !! But if you are going then make sure you don't spend more than 2 hrs . You must go to Edinburgh ! That place is just plain amazing, historical and romantic. It's got the most haunted places in the UK ( Edinburgh vaults ). I Even cosider it to be better than Paris and by far better than the overrated London.

Visit Stirling as well if you are interested in seeing The Wallace monument and his Sword ( 5'6 long ) !!

I go to sydney quite a bit and it is a fantastic city.

There is lots of things to do, weather is great and the beaches are sensational.

Only problem is that the getting around can be a bit of a problem as the traffic can be bad and the public transport is not the best.

I've been to Boise several times for work... it's a great town. A vibrant downtown with lots of music and art, a growing university influence, a Basque enclave with some incredible food, close to the mountains and skiing, huge historical district, nearby hiking and forests, good bookstores, enough of a new economy bump to keep the amenities at a level beyond the population.

The feel, I think, is similar to Austin in the late 70's-early 80's.

    That sounds awesome. Thanks.

Plus, let's face it, it kicks Oklahoma's ass.

Thanks to the resident Scottish expert as well.

    No Slovenian or Mauritian love?

    edit:
    Thanks!
