http://www.myspace.com/nectarineband This is one of my best friends. He just played a gig where he was the backing music for an art show.
It's 3:05 CST...check out the set by Sea on the progressive channel on di.fm...it's got a pretty thick dreamy feel to it. edit: errrrrr...first ten minutes were elevated prog...then took a harder house turn. Sorry. Carry on.
Havent heard Aphex Twins, whats their stuff sound like, is it a lot like Radiohead like Kid A stuff, just a bunch of sounds and stuff mixed together? Maybe a little more organized
The song "Idioteque" off "Kid A" is the closest Radiohead has gotten to sound like Aphex Twin. I would recommend trying out some song samples off Amazon for his various albums: Selected Ambient Works 85-92, Selected Ambient Works, Volume II, and I Care Because You Do. If I was to recommend 2 albums starting out, it would be SAW 85-92 and I Care Because You Do.
This is it...although Air had vocals. If you like any or all of the above. I STRONGLY recommend you check out Ullrich Schnauss. "A strangely isolated place" is an album that will never offend.
I like their new album and I like their other efforts, but there is something special about Moon Safari that they haven't been able to replicate imo.
