My wife says she saw a sign today at I-45 and Louetta announcing that a Rudy's BBQ was coming to that location. Anyone else heard this? Maybe I missed the boat and that's common knowledge around here, but if true, that's pretty sweet.
Sweet, the woman and I love Rudy's, we take trips to College Station just to get some of our favorite food and Rudy's was one of them..
Rudy's is a meat market that sells cooked meats. Our pits are 100% wood fired with oak, a slower burning wood as opposed to mesquite. Our meats are cooked in a dry spice, not in our "Sause" (we use it on the side). Our unique "Sause" is being shipped throughout the United States (and Texas, of course).
salt lick is alright because it's an experience - outlaw, byob, and family style eating. in a one-on-one blindfold competition, rudy's kicks the hell out of any other barbecue. the dry spice rub + sauSe is magical.
Salt Lick would be assume, but I'd be thrilled to have some Rudy's pop up around town and run Luthers and Harlons out of business. It's upsetting that out of Houston's amazing restaurant variety and quality, we have jack crap for BBQ. Evan
i hear the rudy's in houston is true. "<xxxxx>, We have had a very hard time resolving some drainage issues. It appears that those problems have been remedied. We plan on starting construction next month and hope to be open early this summer. The site is at Louetta and I-45 so be on the watch for us. Sorry for the delay. We want to be in Houston as badly as you want us to be. Pete Bassett VP/Director of Operations Rudy's Texas Bar-B-Q, LLC" -pulled from some dude's xanga who wrote in to Rudy's...
