Someone started talking about the Lakers passing us a while back, and I took it personally and stated it was more likely we'd get home court from the Jazz. Of course, to double my point, I talked about the lakers passing the Jazz too, and was promptly laughed at. But my real point was we were more likely to move closer or past the jazz than to fall back. I think DD chimed in.
we are going to have tough time with phoenix even if the starts play limited minutes. as for NOK, man, they are only a game back of 8th right now. im sure they are going to fight harder to make the playoffs than we will to get homecourt. that game is going to be hell. im hoping utah continues to struggle so we wont be dependent on beating the two teams we play the worst against. the race for home court is far from over.
I have to admit... I never would have thought the Rox would have this good of a chance for HC... I wrote off our chances lright then and there.. after the Jazz loss...
i feel sorry for jazz fans: " I think a rape would be more enjoyable than this crap." http://jazzfanz.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=22007&sid=e8e3a86ad00e847a69cf66ef0886199d
we are getting to the point where we might clinch home court advantage before the last game of the season, and we can just play Spanolis, and Novak in that last game.
AK is injured, Deron is half injured (groin strain or something like that), and they're being exposed. We will run them over in the first round. Book it.
i was 100% certain the rockets had lost hca weeks ago. but then again you could not have imagined that the jazz would make it so easy for us to come back from behind. now it's in our hands. we just need to win one more game against new orleans or against them to get hca. and with hca in the first round the playoff picture looks much nicer. i mean we still don't have that reliable 3rd scoring option, our backup pg position is non-existent and we haven't won a playoff series in 10 years. so even a 2nd round exit in 6 to 7 games against the mavs would make this season a huge success, at least in my book. go rockets!
Just as Yao said, I am not surprised that we won on the road, but a little bit surprised that Jazz lost consecutively. Had Yao and Tmac forseen this, I do not think that they two wuold have sat out in the last gamevs Blazers. Fortunately, time is still enough. Home court advantage seemed just to be a dream for us one week ago, but now it would become true. Go Rockets, go tmac!
i won't feel safe unless we are up 2 games going into the jazz games.. i really don't want to have to try on that game. which means we need phoenix to clinch the 2nd seed and coast in our game, and we have to beat the hornets. win out our next two, have the jazz lose one of the back to back against the mavs/suns, and we are in houston to start.
If the games tomorrow and Saturday go according to the odds-makers, then the Rockets will have HCA clinched on Saturday night. If it doesn't happen by Saturday night, then it will probably come down to the winner of the Rockets-Jazz game on the 18th.
It will be Dallas' best interest to let Jazz have HCA to make the Jazz-Rox matchup as close as possible. On the otherhand, it will be Phoneix's best interest to let Rox has HCA so Rox can advance and give Dallas a lot of trouble in the second round. Anyway, things will be very interesting.
FYI, I was watching the Mavs/Wolves game and the announcers said that DIRK will be playing against Utah on Friday. Like mentioned above, the Mavs are rotating their players. I think Dirk,Harris and Stackhouse missed last night's game. Probably on friday versus the Jazz, Howard and Terry will get some rest. Bottom line, even though the Mavs are not at full strength against the Jazz because of resting some players, they still are VERY capable of beating the Jazz with the guys that are still playing.
Not sure if this Jazz thread has been posted here, but I found it quite a competition to our "Photoshop the pain ..." thread. http://jazzfanz.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=20261
There are really a lot of surprises given in this season......full of dramatic things. How about winning a title to make it a climax?
That was cute! thanks for sharing. You have to feel for them, I mean we aren't playing the best basketball ever so we feel pain, but to clinch a playoff spot and then sink like they are has to be painful for their fans.
