I've been noticing recently that both Yahoo's and Google's maps aren't up to date on some of Houston's newer roads. Anyone know of a better site for these? Or am I going to have to shell out $40 every year for a new Keymap?
Where are you going exactly? tried mapquest? If you are going to shell out $40/year, I'm guessing it would be more logical to just go ahead and invest in a Tom Tom / Garmin like device. Just guessing, but I'd imagine those thigns woudl at least have a few years worth of free software update downloads, right? They're kind of pricey, but if you can update for new map info, it would be worth it, plus they have a lot of other cool features...
It's funny too that they have the disclaimer right on them: "These directions are for planning purposes only. You may find that construction projects, traffic, or other events may cause road conditions to differ from the map results." Duh! Like we wouldn't know that when we saw it. Or this: "When using any driving directions or map, it's a good idea to do a reality check and make sure the road still exists, watch out for construction, and follow all traffic safety precautions. This is only to be used as an aid in planning." Hello? A reality check? I haven't been there yet, or I wouldn't need directions.
i don't know about tom tom but garmin does NOT give you upgrades and in fact their maps are likely even more behind than something online. try maps.live.com (from msn) it has some nice features.
