I'm glad the Knicks are using it elsewhere, but it's a joke that they even got one! Larry Johnson has had that bad back for years, he talked of retirement months ago. Now all of a sudden they can get an exception? First the NBA doesn't give out exception, now they're giving them out left and right! Oh well, at least we got ours, and the Knicks aren't talking to GSW! :)

Someone mentioned Glen Rice. It might turn out that acquiring ailing players with huge contracts could turn out to be better than draft choices. Are there any that we should be looking at for next year?

There's no way they'll get it.

I heard that on authority. ;)

Even if they were to get it, can a disabled-player exception be used in a trade? I was under the impression you could only use it to sign players.

Even if the Knicks really get the exception, it's highly unlikely they
are going to strenghten the Bucks by virtually handing Mason over to them like that.

You never know with the Knicks...from everything I am reading, Camby has that plantar fascitis. That injury usually can send anyone to the bench for a while...imagine what it could do to Camby who has never played more than 63 games...I could definitely see them making a move for a guy like Williams from Milw...im not saying it would be a wise move...but I could see them doing it

You know what the annoying thing is they shouldn't be eligible for it. They are supposed to go by the same rule that Luc went through, Luc's injury was evaluated to have occured last year, thus the Oct. 1st deadline. But I agree with you NJ, Camby's injury is a huge question mark right now. They may pursue Mason as an insurance policy, and then when healthy Camby will play center like they've been trying to do for a year or so.

Why do you say they aren't talking to GSW anymore? It doesn't say anything about the GSW in the article. GSW is probably a more logical tradeing partner than the Bucks. I think we have 5 more days prior to MJackson being ours. Let there be no exceptions prior to Wednesday next week.

The Knicks and any other team apart from the Rockets can still trade with GSW for Jackson.

I don't think this is correct. Jackson can't be traded by GWS to anyone for 3 months, or the Rockets for 1 year. The GSW essentially matches our offer with plans to keep him outright (unless they illegally worked out a trade with MJ to be happen in 3 months), or let him go to us for nothing. Those are their choices. The only mitigating factors are if they can trade other of their big men so that keeping MJ makes more sense, or if Damp gets injured they might keep MJ because otherwise they would be in horrible shape at the center position.

So right now it looks good for us. But still have to wait.
