anyone know of a place inside the loop that gives cheap haircuts? i used to have a regular place in midtown, but they closed the shopping center down. all i need is a good fade and don't really wanna pay double digits for it. i find doing it myself usually doesn't work out too well.

ha...i did go bald. but it was by accident. my hair was a good 2 inches long about 5 weeks ago. then, with a slip of the guard, i had to shave it all off. the bald look doesn't suit me.

i go to this one I would like to say near midtown, next to that Fiesta you see off of 59 around the 59/45/288 intersection. Its basically those Vietnamese places that cut your hair for $3. Have been going there for 10+ years, haven't messed up on me yet.

Just do it yourself...I do...Not becuase I'm a cheap b*stard, which I am, but because I like it short...Its more of a Roman cut, but which I like...

and yes, I have done the slip of the the guard/blade and had to get it really short...nature of the beast....

I used to go to the 2.99 places myself. They do a better job than TGI or Super Cuts or Great Clips which all cost about 10 bucks more. Recently I just shaved all my hair off. I love it. Now I'll just let it grow back for the next 6 months and save myself a good 18 bucks while I'm at it :p

Here's the intersection where Fiesta is. I guess the place he recommended is around there somewhere.

one thing i noticed about the vietnamese places though is that they dont disinfect the razors they use...i went to a 4.99 place once and i got a blister on my head. doctor said it was a skin infection. it went away after 2 weeks..i guess you get what you pay for

I used to go to those Viet/Chinese places for my haircut in middle school but haven't been back since.

I'm wondering, how much do you tip them?
If the cut is 3-5 bux... then do you tip like a dollar..or two.. or any?

even those 2.99 places you still have to tip

unless you're a cheapo, you'll tip the guy a good $5 which brings the total to $8~$10 =/

I always gave the guy $10 when I used to get cuts at those places. But you can't help but wonder how sanitary those places are =X
