yea seriously wtf mcgrady??? and u call urself a fan? Plus who else could we get. Phil? no. Larry Brown? hes more stubborn than van gundy. Rick Adelman? hell no the guy doesnt teach defense. JVG is going to be here a long time since we will most likely reach the 2nd round and im sure he will get an extension even if we dont. So if you hate van gundy that much go root for another team.

You have good points- this team is not growing or gaining ground in the West under JVG. Yao and Tracy are big time players now- time & opportunity passes quickly.....

I do not mean to complain- as I support this team- but we seem in a malaise-complacency mode....Troubling.

Hopefully this coach can inspire these special players while they are young!

    Go Rockets!!!!!

Enough losing in the first round. Everyone here wants the Rockets to get as far deep into the playoffs. Don't let the blindness of JVG hatred get in the way.

I never buy the nonsense that JVG or any other coach changes the personality of a play. It rarely happens.

Yao is never soft, and T-mac is not a selfish person or player. They may change or improve their playing styles, but JVG makes them tough or unselfish. Give me a break!

JVG is the a BIG reason why we are 5th seed and were so successful without Yao. If it was any other coach, we would be fighting for 8th seed or possibly worst.

I want the Rockets to win and to go as far as the championship. At the same time, I don't like JVG antics and I think this team has a lot of potential that another open minded coach could take advantage of.

You've got to hand it to New Yorkers who think Van Gundy can do no wrong. ;)

Gundy has done an excellent job this year, but if we don't make it out of the first round and put up a tough fight in the second he needs to go.

Oh - I think JVG should go for the offensive problems this team has had. He has failed to adjust to the new rules and bring in quick, athletic scorers...the whole defensive emphasis has cost us in an age where thug-ball has effectively been outlawed.

JVG should not get an extension unless we make some serious noise.

yeah, not so sure about the tmac being hungry for a ring. call me a pessemist... but yeah, i am still waiting for tmac to truly take this team on his shoulders.

he's got this postseason and maybe next years and if he doesn't get our team to make some noise then he will always be remembered as a a great talent, but no heart... he could never win the big one. i mean he's got to at least get to the finals to solidify his career.

    another dominique wilkins so far...

but i do like JVG and he has helped alot of the players on this team learn empowerment and accountability.

if we dont make it out of the first round... or JVG TMAC or YAO look pathetic in doing so

then one of the big 3 has to go... JVG...TMAC... or YAO.....

    take a pick...

the team will need to get shaken up...

dont worry, because the Rockets ARE going past the first round... but the haters will continue to complain anything short of a championship...

some of you guys put Van Gundy in a lose-lose situation... you blame everything on him, then he plays his bench, like the Portland game, and they dont produce the results he demands...

sit back and relax and watch the show, its going to be one hell of a playoff run....

p.s. New Yorker, I have to ask, for the benefit of the board.... where did you grow up?

I never wish for the Rockets to lose. I truly believe we have the talent to win it all. Yes a championship this year is what I expect and what I root for in spite of Jeff Van idiot. But if we don't let's get rid of this cancer some call a coach and win next year! Go Rockets I love you forever! Shots for all!

Rockets' confidence level sure was in the stratosphere when they were up 2-0 against the Mavs in 2005, but you know the rest of the story.

Not sure where you got your number, but it looks like you have pretty low expectation. Under JVG, the Rockets continue to rank close to the bottom one-third in their home game ticket sale:

Houstonians' support for JVG is clearly wearing thin. JVG is better off spending quality time with Almu and his crew somewhere else.

WCF or bust. That's a fair standard.

I think I heard it on Sports radio 610 - morning show with John and Lance. 21 or 22 sellouts. I've been to more than a dozen home games and only about 3 looked sold out- like the Detroit game- still the high point of the season for me.

Nope. As long as JVG continues to provide free season tickets, he will have fans' support, at least in this BBS. And I can't blame them. Who want to get rid of the guy providing freebies? ;)

Seriously, a 50 wins season, 4th or 5th seat in the west and get past the first round, and that is all you expect from Rox (a team featuring two of the best players in the league)? You guys do have some low expectations. Not saying what JVG did this season is not an achievement, but it is not worth you guys kissing his a** like this.

All i can say is that JVG has been great all year,if he played the bench like we wanted to,we might;ve not even been deep in the west.

Uhh... yea. He shouldn't have given him multiple chances to get his act together at the beginning of the season, when it was plainly obvious that Bonzi intended to sulk because of how his contract got botched.

You DON'T come into the season 25 lbs overweight, with an attitude like you're the ****, unless your name is Shaq and you've won 4 championships.

Bonzi is a nobody... he could have helped us this year (and still may help us), but his attitude reeked at the beginning of the season. I'm just glad he didn't bring anybody else down with him.

i dont understand how you can say that this team isnt better than the 04-05 team. The records are going to be very close, and yao hasnt played for 30+ games.

    .

i dont think people support a team, or not b/c of a coach. Its about the team and the fans in general. Unfortunately, houston fans have not been very good lately...besides a relatively small minority.
