Duncan is better than Yao. With Duncan, you're talking about one of the top 15 players of all time. Offensively and defensively, he's virtually flawless (except the free throws).

I think the Spurs had superior perimeter quickness defensviely (Parker, Ginobili, and Bowen are all above average), and they were a better passing team. Injuries is another factor.

    Big Shot Luther

I'm going to go out there and make a prediction. If by any chance, the Rockets face the Spurs in the playoffs, the Rockets will beat them soundly. Five games or less. All the difficult matchups go in the Rockets favor. Duncan is a great PF, but forced to play Center, he can't handle Yao. The only matchup where the Spurs have an advantage is at PG, but the effeminate French point guard isn't the kind of PG the Rockets have trouble with. The Rocket paint defense is second-to-none. Tony Parker won't get his layups against Yao/Deke/Chuck. And just like Rafer, you want Parker to shoot. You let him shoot.

I don't think you should just compare individual players like that...

It's a team game after all and the Spurs have way better team chemistry. I am not talking about the locker room chemistry, but actual in game and on court team chemistry, which in my opinion the Rockets still lacks.

Other than that, the Spurs' have way more playoff experience and stayed with the same core line up for such a long period of time.
