it just seems weird to me that after they lose the game against the warriors and homecourt in the playoffs pretty much out of the question then tmac's back acts up (after visiting patterson) and yao's back starts acting up and all of a sudden they are both game-time decisions for the rest of the games, now i am all for resting the stars but i thought thats for the last 2-3 games of the season. i think this is tmac just being really lazy and trying to "save" himself for the playoffs and yao basically being told to sit..all i hope is that if tmac is going to sit the rest of the regular season that he might decide to take it to the basket in the playoffs because i will pull my hair out if i see a bunch of 9-32 nights with 29 shots being jump shots in the playoffs
Who said that? As for this game, the organization made a decision to rest them both.....smart move. As for the Golden State game....I personally believe that Tracy was being lazy...... Different games, I guess the organization decided that Tmac was right all along and to rest them. Tmac is simply leading the organization. DD
i think its easy to say that last year tmac shut it down when the playoffs were out of the question last year and yao played until he broke his foot...i love tmac and what he brings to the team but everyone knows tmac isnt the most motivated person at all times
that is for sure. He played his heart out in the first season he came here but he just hasnt been the same since. i dont see that passion and excitement anymore. hopefully it comes in the playoffs or we are screwed.
I think these injuries are just fakes. We know Tracy is preparing and thinking only about the PO's. The main thing is T-Mac's and Yao's form for the PO. I think JVG gave them just a little rest, to prepare for the playoffs and to "get fresh". I hope they will play tomorrow in Sacramento (they wil go with team on the road) but JVG could give them another free day. I really want to see T-Mac and Yao dominanting the PO.
would you not want to go into the playoffs with any momentum? this isnt exactly a veteran playoff team who knows how to turn it on and off.
Yeah a bad back and a season where you miss the playoffs because of it might do that to you... I will guarantee you that won't happen.
T-mac needs to just retire already and get it over with so he can go do what he does have a passion for because it sure is not basketball. He said he'd retire when his current contract is up, but he's just hurting the team by hanging on.
LOL!!! This is not fantasy basketball. Every team regard themselves to have a chance in the playoff wants to finish strong to gain momentum and confidence. I truly believe Yao and T-Mac is hurting and that's the only reason they are not playing. In this case, the health of players should come first heading into the playoff.
Lets conveniently ignore the fact that T-Mac single-handedly carried this team for 35 games this season, and is the reason this is even a playoff team at all. Lets face it, this team is ugly without T-Mac. Fine, he doesn't play with Jordan-level fire all the time, but so what. He is still really damn good, and capable of brilliant clutch performances on any given night.
I just hope that in at least 2 of the remaining 7 games, JVG plays both t-mac and yao, and allows bonzi to play with them and see how effective this is. Then, I hope we take a big lead on the Jazz in the playoffs, so that JVG will keep on playing bonzi with them.
Tracy said he would relax his muscles, I think he has had enough time to do that and he will be ready for 100% for tomorrow's game. I think Yao wil be ready too.
Boy, you are great. Thanks a lot. GREAT, T-Mac will play and this game wil be on NBA TV, CCTV5 and VP1 I'm really lookin' forward it
Yao apparently commented about his back issues to Sina today: http://sports.sina.com.cn/k/2007-04-07/13312853982.shtml Basic gist: -Back acted up in shootaround Friday, he doesn't know how he hurt it, perhaps someone hit him in the previous game -"We are not afraid of playing on the road" - I assume this is referring to the likelihood that the Rockets will open the playoffs in Utah -No medicine needed, his condition is not serious. He says it seems the muscles in his back tightened up a bit, and 2-3 days of rest should fix it. He says he hopes to play in the next game (Sacramento I think)
I am fine with relaxing them as long as we do not slide down to the 6th position, and that will take a miracle to happen, but it can still happen.
