technical fouls

    in this pre-season games is new technical foul: "defensive three"
    TECHNICALS: DALLAS - DEFENSIVE THREE 2, D HARVEY, PHILADELPHIA - DEFENSIVE
    THREE 3, TRAYLOR, HEAD COACH L BROWN 2 (EJECTED)

    what this means???

    already know the answer:
    in D player can't be in the paint longer then 3 seconds without guarding somebody.

    So does that mean that if a center is whistled for defensive three twice, he's out of the game? Man, that's harsh.

    No dude. Look again. Dallas had two of the new "defensive three" techs, and Philly had three. Coach brown got ejected because he got himself two of the old fashioned kind.:)

    Remember at the bottom of box scores they would have a tally of the technical fouls? They would have personal techs, illegal D, and the occasional flagrant. There can't be any illegal D calls any more, but a defensive 3 is a technical foul. The foul is called, but the offending team still has position and resets.
