I actually asked that question of a few women years back and they said that, once they have kids, they don't want to spend time dealing with their hair. It gets in the way when trying to corral children and they don't have time to mess with it like they did when they were single and/or without kids.

If you ever watch any of the makeover shows (i.e. What Not to Wear), it is common to see mothers live in near neglect of themselves upon having a child. To quote the classic "Mom Jeans" SNL ad, "Because you're not a woman anymore, you're a mom!"

Black- when I was single I dreamed of finding a girl with black hair with blond roots

Agreed- I don't care about the color really-I voted black.

Though Kam is right - short blond hair is really good. I do prefer short hair

prefer longish brunette...from light brown to dark auburnish-brown (my wifes shade of preference)

Im not honestly *that* picky when it comes to hair color, Ive dated all shades...but the short look just dont do it for me...gotta be at least top of the shoulder length

I picked other, because in general I prefer any color other than blonde. But occasionally a blonde can have appeal as well

I've seen short hair that looked great, long hair that looked great, and medium length hair that looked great.

I've seen all the same lengths look not so great.

i think i prefer blond and brunette almost completely equally. blonde gives off more of a hot vibe, while brunette is more of a sexily cute vibe. i will say most of the girls i've thought were the prettiest were usually brunette, but maybe that's just a coincidence.

actually, brunettes who dye it blonde where it's kind of blonde mostly all over on the outside and brunette underneath (not just the roots), but with sections of brown showing through so there's kind of a mix of distinct blonde and brown sections, i think that's actually my favorite. i'm not sure if that's highlighting or if highlighting is only when you do it in a few places, but whatever it is, that's what i like.

and it needs to be past the shoulders, but not too much longer than that.

edit: black can be really good looking as well, but red just does not do it for me.

Men tend to date women that remind them of their mothers. YOu go for what's familar.

Astro gets a say in what I do to my hair. I might not listen to him but I always ask his opinion. I usually let him pick between two colors if I'm dying my hair and right now I' m growing it out because I promised him I wouldn't cut it before we have a wedding so I guess he plays a big role in what I do to my hair.

My hair's already trying to sprout gray (what's up with that? I just turned 32 and I'm otherwise young for my age). Right now, just a few and I can pluck them. When it gets to be too many... guess I'll have to start getting blonde highlights. I prefer hair in its natural color, but I draw the line at the gray. It's not frail or anything.

I'm not going to cut my hair, kids or not, and it has nothing to do with what the men in my life want. I happen to be the one who wants it long. It's actually very low-maintenance. It doesn't even tangle much anymore - it's too long to do that. You just tie it back real quick and go. The ponytail/scrunchie can keep it out of the way of most things, though I might eventually have to hide it from kids who are trying to play with it.

I love having longer hair. It's so easy.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm 21 and I'm starting to get gray hair. Just a few every now and then but its still scary.

Long hair is the best on women, IMO. At least for most brunettes. I mean you gotta be REALLY beautiful and have a certain shape to your face to be able to pull off the short style (i.e...winona rider).

My guy likes the natural look. As far as hair and makeup, he likes my natural color of hair and he likes long. And he always tells me not to wear makeup. What girl can argue with that? Sometimes I feel like dying it though. I might go for a reddish-purple this summer.

But he's said before that he likes you shaved... at least that's what I've read.

Are we still talkin' about "head" hair? [IMG]
