I've seen him before. Big hitter, the Lama. He once told me that when I die, on my deathbed, I will receive total consciousness. So I got that goin' for me, which is nice.
uh... I'm not sure that's going to work. I'm told they are doing some type of check of your alumni/staff/faculty status, after you send them your credit card info. Either that, or I wasn't supposed to post that code. haha
Did anyone else go and see him in Austin last year? The man packed a basketball stadium with his words. No power slide, no power dunk...
I may just drop by, as it would be nice to see my old boss. I was his 2nd shift manager at the Dolly's summer camp. Man that was a great summer - we had finally beaten the fat kids camp from the other side of Lake Wanawaxie...
You know what really pissed me off about that one was the fact that I waited all night for a ticket and I get there and they decide not to collect tickets. Any idiot could've walked in there and I wasted a whole night. Oh well, I had fun with everyone in line.
my first post is for the Rice community...the 2pm talk. my second post is for the general public...the 10am talk. Rice people get to purchase tix to the 10am show 2 hours before the general public. I think you can use that code to get in. btw: this will sell out fast.
My son saw him at UT last year. He said among other things that sleep is the best meditation. My son liked that and used it to justify sleeping through classes-- a habit he seems to be breaking this year. My next door neighbor is a Rice prof. Maybe he can invite me.
BTW my son waited in line for hours to get free tickets to see the Dali Lama at UT and he was really impressed. Sorry to joke inapproriately, as my wife frequently accuses me of. The son did like the sleep and meditation quote.
