Jordan is a great player, no doubt. But he's also overhyped. I'm not saying he isn't the best ever, but he's definitely not head and shoulders, clear-cut, indisputably better than everyone else.
I actually do not think so. Like said before Kobe NEVER won a championship as the main man, until he does that he is just a player with great stats and no Championship and no MVP.
Kobe is great, one of the greatest offensive players ever, but it will be a long time before any player will be "better" than MJ. The memories are too recent.
Jordan didn't focus on long range shots simply becuase he was too smart, and too busy taking the more efficient midrange jumpers and high percentage layups, and dunks. Let's be real here, there is a reason MJ is a more efficient player. He was never a ball pounder so throw out those excuses for Kobe over dribbling and chucking 3 bombs at a low percentage. He simply isn't as smart.
yes and I watched him play too... but the memory of that team always lingers in the mind... when I see a lakers team
Jordan was efficient because he had one of the best supporting casts in NBA history throughout his 6 titles, it's pretty easy to be efficient when there are 3 other players that could've scored 30 every other game. look @ harper before he came to the Bulls and had playing time http://www.nba.com/playerfile/ron_harper/index.html how bout dennis rodman http://www.nba.com/playerfile/dennis_rodman/index.html toni kukoc in his chicago days http://www.nba.com/playerfile/toni_kukoc/index.html steve kerr shot 52% from three point range one year http://www.nba.com/playerfile/steve_kerr/index.html this is a crazy supporting cast, all could play defense and score(cept rodman) throw in a top 50 player in pippen and...
Harper was way past his prime when he came to Chicago and because of MJ, his career was extended. The best scoring average he had with Chicago was about 11ppg. His best years were with the Cavs but even then he was so injury prone. Dennis Rodman? Haha, that's pretty funny. I'm pretty sure he wasn't even in double figures for his entire scoring career. I remembered that when he cracked over 10 points in a game that was considered a bonus. Kukoc...I don't think he was ever a 20pt per game scorer ever in his career. Stever Kerr never averaged over double figures in scoring ever in his career although I bet his best scoring years were with the Bulls and because of Jordan. Scottie Pippen...same with him, his best scoring years were definently with Jordan. After he left Chicago, he didn't really seem much of a player. I'm not sure who you are talking about that could have scored over 30ppg other than MJ on his team. Were you even alive during the MJ years with Chicago?
Was he not efficient when his teammates were Charles Oakley and other scrubs (Oakley wasn't a scrub, but most of the rest of the team was)? He won his first MVP when Pippen and Grant were rookies, and not even starting....
One of the lamest arguments Ive seen in awhile, then again your tryin to make a case for Pippen being anywhere near Shaqs equal. Better luck on your next attempt
