low inside pitch right where ausmus wanted it, nady just got a good rip on it. im just mad astros couldnt get at least 1 more run so roy would get the W.
Closer is probably the most mental position in pro sports...along with quarterback. Lidge is damaged goods.
As a fan, I'm just not interested in seeing Lidge anymore. You ask me, he needs two months in the minor without any pressure.
Maybe, but pitchers get figured out all the time after they come up from the minors. They invent new ways of pitching, new counts to throw different pitches in to constantly stay ahead of that dreaded "scouting report". Why couldn't lidge tweak his pitches and work it out to where the batter couldn't call what pitch lidge was throwing every time?
This not a surprise to anyone except the Astros themselves. We all saw Lidge couldn't get it together last year, and he can't this year. Time to put him in the OF and slap a big R. Ankiel on the back of his jersey. Wheeler by April 3rd.
On talk radio, Steve Francis was "the man." "the man," was David Carr. Now that David Carr is gone, who is "the man?" Is it Brad Lidge or Rafer, or somebody else.
We had some great times. Now please get on that homerun ball you gave up to Puljos in the NLCS and don't come back.
I have said this a hundred times, the Astros aint doing **** this season. We have tons of holes and a triple A manager and a triple A closer
Trade him or send him to the minors and let him pitch his way back. We fans pay to see professional major leaguers. Time to stop giving this guy the ball and hopeing.
It's not Brad Lidge's fault. he just needs better set up men, and some guys to score some runs for him.
