I know it's a loooong shot, but what if Kelvin Cato comes out with avengeance this season, and sheds all the "lazy" and "overpaid" labels to become a true force in the league? Let's say he averages about 15 ppg and 10 rpg with 2 bpg. What do you do then?

Do you keep him and hope/expect his production to continue?

    or

Do you trade him while his value is high, anticipating him becoming the lazy player he had been?

First you find a place for the trophy, then you measure the players' finger sizes. After that, you find a suitable jewelry shop, then make room in the rafters of Compaq Center.

Then you extend Cato's contract an extra 6 years.

The only time "Cato" and "rocks" should be in the same sentence is when you're discussing the contents of his skull....

If he does avg 15 ppg and 10 rpg with 2 bpg then,
trade him as fast as possible. But like already stated "if"

Remember, when he was going to be the rebounding champion last year????

i still say trade him for Duncan asap. if cato has one good year for every three that he plays that would mean only two decent years out of the six years for 42 million. if you give that extention for six more years get only two more good seasons......thats 84 million for four years of production and 12 years outta your life watch pathetic basketball. Nope,...not intersted myself....i rather watch Tim have maybe one or two bad years out of the next twelve years of my life personally.......:)

If Cato had a breakout season, I would trade him as soon as possible while his value was high. IMO, if Cato does breakthrough it would probably be more to prove people wrong than his wanting to be a major contributor on the team. He's had 2 seasons to show that he's more than just a player who plays hard when he's in the mood and has yet to come through.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, we've all heard about how he's been injured and such, but there have been times during the season and in games where he's obviously picked his spots, grabbing boards when he feels up to it, blocking shots when he feels like it, etc. With that attitude, Cato should not be the Rocks long-term answer at C.

So of course, if Cato comes up with a monster season, the Rocks will extend his contract to 10 years.

I will be the first in the long line to jump on the bandwagon. I'm not normally a bandwagon jumper but in this case I would make an exception.:D

As a starter Jackson averaged almost more than that. If we get Jackson, Kaytoe will end up being the 7 million dollar backup (eventually) and will not get enough minutes to average squat :p
