For about another six weeks. Mr. Van Gundy's Rockets need to beat the Jazz in the first round and go deep (6-7 games) into the second for his return to be remotely justifiable.
Of course it does, but if one coach is not getting through to them, you got to try another. How long do we have to hear JVG whine about Yao's pick and roll defense? Or the team's lack of energy on both offense and defense. You know why we hear the same things? Because the team has clearly tuned out JVG on these issues, otherwise JVG must be terrible at delivering the message as we have heard the same thing for 3+ years. But JVG is smart, he bought the Red Rowdies tickets...I think that will help him get an extension whether he deserves it or not. DD
Tmac wouldn't be here if Rudy is still coach, he'd still have Stevie and Cat doing ISO to death and Moochie the highest paid scrub... Everytime I hear Rudy I think of the later bad years instead of the 2 rings, meanwhile Sloan has never won a ring yet he has made consistant winning teams, that is why I can't give a blind pass on Rudy.
You think he is going to get the Rockets to win a playoff series? I have gone on record as saying if he does win round 1 he deserves an extension. But, if he loses in the first round with a healthy Yao and Tmac, he should be tarred and feathered and run out of town. DD
That can't always be true or an absolute. He couldn't reign in Mobley or Francis. He also did well with veteran players like Elie, Chucky, etc.

That's exactly the point, you can get the team up for a few games with your speach, but not entire 82-game season.
