Fans should start chanting for Bonzi at home games...Two games before he got injured he freakin scored 27 points and grabbed 9 boards. Don't tell me the guy is not capable.

The Laker game we blew a late lead just like this... somehow barely escaped with a W. This game... exact same thing. I understand that in the "playoffs" coaches tighten up their rotation. That being said, playing with your "playoff" rotation for the whole season:
    1) Kills any chance you have at developing a bench and leaves you "hoping" that on a night like tonight when your best scorer off the bench is gone someone steps up.
    2) Wears your starters down. IMO the freshest guy on the court is Yao... I find it hardly coincidental that it is because he was out half the season.

My biggest issues with our coach is the fact that he fails to realize what type of asset that someone like Wells could be. Another is the fact that you have guys like Vspan whom could be an asset, but when and if he ever gets in the game, he tries to turn him into a spot up shooter. At this point he maybe one of the best penetrators we have on the team. Not to mention the guy loves the spot light and can get it done in the "big" games. Maybe next year we will have a coach who can recognize the strength of the players and use them to their fullest.

Not to mention that JLIII can change the pace of the game... but on a night like tonight when the fast break is not there he is a jump shooter only. If he gets into the lane he is too small to get his shot off. I know I am only on a rant atm but JMHO JVG needs to be replaced. Adelman preferably.

following a game where our bench scored 2 points, and 10 points in the game against the clippers.... 23 points in 3 games is a pretty scary number.

and i agree with mag, we need a coach who is willing to develop players.

You lost your credibilty when you started asking for VSpan and JL3.

VSpan is simply terrible, and JL3 provides nothing more than energy.

Bonzi provides size, a veteran scoring prescense, and solid rebounding.

All we have is Kirk and Bonzi off the bench. VSpan and Novak are not ready!!!!! For what its worth we should of took a chance 10 day contract for the Morris kid out of Kentucky

My point was on a night like tonight this is the type of game (if he would have been give the chance to contribute... not as a spot up shooter) that we could have used the guy. I dont understand how he can look at Hayes and realize that the guy does what he does... brings energy rebounds and defends. Let the guys who aren't spot up shooters do what they do. Does every single possesion have to go through Yao? Dont get me wrong the guy produces but come crunch time when you need him... see this game for example... he is gas'ed. Stick a fork in him cause those last five minutes he was dead tired... other team starts fast breaking us and he cant contribute on D. He needs to kiss and make up with Bonzi and realize that his production could directly relate to his job.

Same ole same ole really but goes back to the never given the chance to step up... how do expect them to be contributors? IMO he was trying to use Novak for something that he wasn't. IF at best Novak turned into Bull you have found a key piece. Dont bring the guy in for 20mins a game. He is not and won't be that guy. Stick him at different times during the game and make him shoot. Leave him in 3-4 mins and pull him. But while he is in the game use him to do what he does best. At the very least he is going to spread the floor....

Don't get me wrong, I see what you're saying about Bonzi, but Spanoulis is really a terrible fit on this team. He is a player that needs the ball in his hands in order to produce and even when its in his hands, it's a turnover waiting to happen.

He deserves to be in the dog house. Honestly, I dont think he has any future on this team so long as we have T-mac and Yao.

People like Deke/Jho can NOT come out with 100% energy every game after game during the playoffs because it is going to be TIRING, EXHAUSTING for a 34 year old and a 41 year old... We need people who are FRESH and PUMPED UP to play. I mean, If i was one of the bench players who hasn't played for a long time and finally get some chances to play, wouldn't i play out of my mind??? That beats playing the same OLD and TIRED players in a stretch of games, no?

Get Bonzi and possibilly Novak, we need POINTS!!! Games like this will happen to us when we face the Jazz in the playoffs, and without offense we can't pull away!

Bonzi doesn't fit and his lazy defense is a cause for serious concern.

On this point, I agree with JVG.

JVG's stubborness about the rotation could have cost all the energy of our stars and give us the disadvantage going into the playoffs.

This is also something I agree with and have been harping on all year.

So many 4th quarter collapses, mental fatigue, physical fatigue....it is so danged obvious.

jerry sloan knows how to use rookies and develop them. I dont think i would see bonzi, novak, or vspan this season on the court especially when playoff is coming and the game left is getting lesser and lesser since JVG will just stick with his old stubborness and play with what he has on his little planner now

Sadly, I can deal with his "lazy" defense because he makes up for it with his size, rebounding, and scoring....

All of our bench players have "causes for serious concern".

Head is too small for a SG and he doesnt finish inside or get tough rebounds. Snyder cant shoot and he makes poor decisions. Juwan is slow, JL3 is small, VSpan sucks, Novak sucks, and Mutumbo has absolutely no offensive game.

Bonzi has the best chance of really making an impact off the bench.

Things may change. After tonight loss, JVG would rethink new strategies, and possibly is consulting our BBS. ;)
A loss is not necessory a bad thing. It will be too late when we lose a game like this in the playoff.

I have been saying this all along. You have to find a way to get him some minutes. Jeff Van Gonedy will go the way of Gone Capers, if he does not wise up and utilize ALL of his potential weapons. No more talk, just get it done Van Gundy. Get it done.

It will be major crow to swallow but I think JVG will activate Bonzi soon. It is painfully obvious to even someone as stubborn as JVG that the bench is pathetic, Bonzi with 9 games under his belt before the playoffs is better JL3, VSpan, JT and Novak.
