http://uk.playstation.com/games-media/release-calendar/month2/ http://uk.playstation.com/games-media/games/detail/item50911/Heavenly-Sword/ http://uk.playstation.com/games-media/games/detail/item48455/Lair/ According to the newly updated Playstation UK site, both titles are scheduled for May. Well, May in Europe at least, although with these being region-free, you could just import these from Europe if you wanted (assuming they aren't released in NA at around the same time). That said, I haven't seen any confirmation of this from the developers yet, and this seems to contradict other reports on these games (Lair was previously announced to be a June title for Europe IIRC, and Heavenly Sword still seems a ways off). This could easily be a mistake on someone's part, or perhaps just an early placeholder date (more so for HS than Lair). For those that aren't familiar with these two titles, these are some new IPs with big budgets by SCEWWS that Sony will probably push very hard, similar to Resistance and MotorStorm. Here's some media from both games: Heavenly Sword Spoiler Lair Spoiler The Heavenly Sword devs (from Ninja Theory) usually post on several message boards (NeoGAF, B3D, their own, etc.), so I'd expect some sort of comment from them soon...perhaps by Monday. Spoiler If this turns out to be false, then this can be an April Fools' Day joke.
Sony has a lot of unknown big games coming up, killer apps in the making? doubt it, but anythings possible
Their killer app in the making will be out very soon: <object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" id="gtembed" width="480" height="409"> <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" /> <param name="movie" value="http://www.gametrailers.com/remote_wrap.php?mid=18242"/> <param name="quality" value="high" /> <embed src="http://www.gametrailers.com/remote_wrap.php?mid=18242" swLiveConnect="true" name="gtembed" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="480" height="409"></embed> </object>
Yeah, the game is real, although my comments about it were full of sarcasm. Spoiler Or were they? The game is based off of the tech demos Sony always does for their new systems (mostly the PS2 and PS3). Basically a cheap ($3-$5 IIRC) way to get used to the SIXAXIS controller I guess. It makes me want a PS3 version of LocoRoco even more though.
So two of the Ninja Theory programmers (including the lead programmer IIRC) have been posting somewhat frequently today on the Beyond3D forums. They seem to be avoiding the thread about release date though. Maybe they aren't allowed to comment on it, even if it is completely wrong. Or maybe they are missing the thread legitimately. I checked out the site a little more and noticed these pages: http://uk.playstation.com/games-media/games/detail/item60352/Tom-Clancy's-Rainbow-Six-Vegas/ http://uk.playstation.com/games-media/games/detail/item60360/Darkness,-The/ AFAIK, those games weren't released on March 23rd. And I think the Darkness was even given an official release date by 2K not that long ago. So yeah...whoever is doing this probably doesn't have concrete info here. Granted, these are 3rd party titles not published by Sony, but still. I'm not placing a lot of confidence in them (not that there was much to begin with). So how about Super Rub-a-Dub?
