Let me say it again: The Mavs are guaranteed to have the #1 record in the NBA right? So why not let them win 70 games and carry that huge burden into the playoffs? The disappointment if/when they lose will be soooo much sweeter. I hope they don't lose another regular season game and finish up 71-11.

I don't know about you guys, but I have been finding myself rooting for the Knicks more and more as the season drags on.

It's strange, but I am finding them more 'likable' than I thought, perhaps because no one thought they would amount to much and they've become the butt of many NBA jokes, so I take pity on them.

Or may be it's just Stevie and Cato and even Marbury now (yes, I am coming around on him).

Yeah actually let them carry that burden into the playoffs, there's no way it WON'T rattle their nerves.

Forget the Mavs though, WE'RE ONLY A HALF GAME OUT OF HOMECOURT!

If we beat the Jazz on Sunday, we have homecourt by .5, if we lose, we are down 1.5 games.

BEAT THE JAZZ! BEAT THE JAZZ!

I hope the arena is louder than ever. It will be intense.

I would love for them to win 70...then get upset by the Warriors in the first round.

just had to throw that in there for A_3PO ;)

geez, they're on another 9 game winning streak. i've just never seen consistency like this. even the 95-96 bulls didn't have 3 12 game streaks, and even if they did have as many 9 game streaks, they were just so dominant, with something around a 12 ppg differential, that it was inevitable. the fact the mavs do this with b/t an 8 and 9 ppg differential just speaks to a remarkable amount of consistency. staying this focused is hard to do.

I wonder how much damage Dirk's psyche would take if the Mavs got 70 wins, then he shot poorly in the first round and got knocked out by an inferior team.

I wonder if he'd ever recover from that...

Which is why Avery Johnson should be the runaway Coach of the Year selection.
