Again, this has A LOT more to do with Yao being more aggressive than it is the refs giving Yao calls. Yao has only shot 3 jumpers so far.

No, he's still a good defender (not "very good" or "great", mind you).

Getting lit up by the league's best scorer is not a good indicator. Kobe can just rise up and shoot over him and make those shots.

As I've already said a million times before: you want to slow things down for Kobe, you gotta put an athletic guy with long arms on him, because Kobe makes roughly 70% of his shots in high-scoring games on jumpers. You put a guy with long arms on him and it bothers him just enough where he would have to work harder for his points, and therefore it wear him out more and forces him to resort to tougher shots.

 

Kobe: 25 pts + 0 assist = 25 pts
T-Mac: 16 pts + 5 assists = At least 26 pts

do you think assists don't count in the offensive category or something? kobe is an amazing scorer but not very good at getting his team involved.

let's put it this way...when a pg has a 25 and 10 game are we amazed at the 45+ point he created for his team like we are when kobe has 40+ and 1 assist?
