So why didn't he comply with our requests? Why didn't he show that he had destroyed the previously-accounted for WMD? You are advocating the 'Trust a Tyrant' strategy which is simply no way to administer a foreign policy. At least not if you have a sack.

I thought this had been answered a thousand times. He was bluffing everyone about chemical weapons. His own generals though that he had chemical weapons. Many of them said that they would have put up a bigger fight except they thought the US would have been gassed at Baghdad. Saddam never wanted to lose any power. So when he shipped out what was left of his chemical weapons, he had to pretend that he still had them.

So let me get this straight then - you think what happened to Native Americans is ok because they got to build casinos?

And you are saying that it's ok to invade a nation to "free" the people?

What if China want's to free us of capitalism someday? Fix our standard of living gap ya know. That's ok right? As long as in the long wrong it's better?

And you are now saying Iraq was right because their people are free - yes a lot of harm and damage was done, but that's ok....because the Iraqi life will be better. Maybe they should be allowed to open some casinos????

SHould we invade china to free the people from communism? In the long run, maybe 50 years, their lives will be better after all....

sorry to throw a monkey wrench into your rant old bean, but most economic pundits that I've read or seen on TV usually claim that China has probaly one of the most capitalistic economies in the world.

So you are advocating a 'Guns Ablazing' strategy which is simply no way to administer a foreign policy. At least not if you have any integrity or intelligence.

I'm not advocating to trust him at all. He was wrong not to have the necessary paperwork.

I am saying that starting war, costing hundreds of thousands of lives, and ruining thousands and thousands of families, tarnishing the name of the U.S., and weakening the constitution isn't a fair price to pay because someone didn't have the right paperwork.

    Heya Blade,

how big is that dent in the wall over there? ;)

    /OnTopic

Time has proven it over and over again, anyone that cant recognize it is blind or willfully ignorant.

If you have even the faintest idea of how to apply logic to the known facts, you can not still defend or be in favor of this war.

We invaded a sovereign country that was no threat to us...the facts prove that.
If we felt the people were unfairly treated, there are diplomatic ways of pursuing redress....we had NO RIGHT to invade.

How would we feel if some other country thought we werent treating our poor right...and they decided to invade.... cause you know damn well we would never change our ways at the demand of another country...how would you feel then??

Logic and facts are not on the side of war supporters these days, and it is telling that the usual political hacks (hiya TJ) still bluster like nothing has changed in 5 years.
