Okay just wanted to share a story from yesterday

So last night went to this new place on westheimer called Armondos or something, some nice mexican restaurant, its only been open a week. And there was this Young texans against cancer happy hour so it was packed and really couldn’t move. I Went with a friend of mine and I had a hat on which i thought might not be good but whatever didn’t think would be huge deal.

So we get a drink and start walking around a little and this guy just says to me, "nice hat", its my UT one so thought he was maybe a fan, so i just said thanks.

then my friend and i start lookin in this area and same guy comes over and is like is this yalls party, and we told him we were there for the Happy hour so he said no this is for another party, and he told us to go over somewhere else…But before we start walking he then says again "thats a really nice hat"…..

so im like uhh are u asking me to take it off? hes like yes. So I did, and my friend was like waiting to talk with him but i told him not too. But I said lets just leave…..and then when we were walkin out, i go up to him and said "all u had to do was ask nicely and i would've taken off my hat, you did not be a smartass about it"………he was like ya ya im sorry blah blah i couldve be nicer, but this isnt place for hats…somewhat apologizing but still being a jackass about it.

So I ask him for his name to figure out what exactly he does there or if hes the manger.… and he replied "armundo", which is the name of the place. So I ask if hes the owner, hes like yes I am.

I told him youll never see me in there again (which im sure he really cares about hahah), but still had to throw that in there.…..All he had to do was be like sir please remove your hat…and I wouldve gladly done it. Just the way he handled it made me mad, so im boycotting the place from now on and telling people about it.

    end rant....

After finding a bar (Triple Crown next to Frys on Westheimer) that gives the best service I've ever had at any restaurant or bar, I'm not as patient with these kinds of places anymore.

Obviously, he's a Mario Williams Only Fan.

They can spot you VY-types from a mile away. Usually by your poor manners. ;)

    "nice hat"

I guess I would have just been a bigger Jerk
and kept on my hat and stayed

I cannot imagine the Owner of a NEW Restaurant being
    so snide and rude
You don't want to get a bad rep so soon out the box

    Talk about rude.

Yesterday my flight from LasVegas to Chicago was delayed and I had 15 minutes to get to my connection.

The stewardess knew there were 20 people that had short connections and asked if everyone else would stay seated until we got off the plane.

Well when the fasten seat belt sign went off about 50 people stood up and clogged the aisles and I ended up missing my flight. People can be so self-absorbed. And when we walked past first class (who were waiting till we passed) there were lots of rude comments and dirty looks (like how dare you get off the plane before me).

You should have just told him, "Yes it is a nice hat, thanks for the compliment." and if it continued say "This place has such nice people, I'm going to remember to wear this hat everytime I come in!"

You should have told him that he should be serving a different type of cuisine if he wants to attract an upscale crowd. Mexican Resturaunt doesn't usually equal nice attire.

    Who needs manners anyway?

You say you knew wearing the hat might not be good, but he's the jerk for calling you on it? If you want to act like a bumpkin, stick to the ice houses.

The only proper time to wear your hat in the restaurant is while talking LOUDLY on your cellphone at the table next to me. Preferably with rugrat pitching a fit at the same time.

I said I thought it might not be a good idea to wear a hat, and like I said all I asked was for him to politely ask me to remove it.

Are you serious? Ever heard the phrase the customer is always right? Not that he was complaining, but as an employee at the place its not to hard to ask the guy to please remove the hat. The manner in which the guy did it was ridiculous, to say "nice hat" and think people are going to imply to take their hat off? Not only once, but twice? Let alone it was the OWNER of the joint, ridiculous if you ask me.

attitudes like that, especially from the owner, won't keep the place in business for long.
