Wheres the part where Kobe pays for Cody's treatment after bending his mom backwards over a chair and choking her?

That's ridiculous. This is something Kobe should be comended on doing. He isn't doing it for publicity, he's doing it b/c he actually cares. That's disgusting to put in a thread about dying children.

Most NBA players in the NBA have conducted adultery. Fidelity is actually a pretty rare commodity these days. I don't understand why Kobe has to be highlighted as such when everybody else and their mother does the same thing. Apart from his cockiness and jordan like imitations, I don't see how he could be critized in his personal life at the moment.

Although many players have conducted adultery, not many of them have had rape charges filed against them. That's what sets them apart, along with the fact that Kobe had recently won three championships in a row (thus catapulting him as an icon).

It may be a faulty assumption, but I would think that most of these players paid money to cover up their mistakes. I understand that Kobe was the first one to have it publicly blow up on him, but that does not make the others less guilty... therefore I think we should put that into perspective when evaluating Kobe.

True, but sadly that will never happen and it will always be held against Kobe.

If he wasn't doing it for publicity, how come we're hearing about it? And if the kid is dying how is what I'm saying going to change anything about that?

I'm just saying that theres a sure fire way to get a couple million out of Kobe.

yep...same thing with Pacman Jones. He did some charity work and stated during a press conference (charity event) recently that he wanted the media to know that he has been doing this for months and not just now. Its ironic that they showed the story on NFL live like 10 times.
