Steve Nash is overratted...i would rather have kidd or billups. maybe billups because of his jumper and defense. Nash is a joke on defense, rebounds, and steals.
....and more assists than Parker, Bibby, Marbury or Ridnour are averaging. Being able to score does not preclude one from being a point guard.
lol at you. Gilbert plays pg, so he is a pg. No one said a pg is not allowed to score. my list: 1) Steve Nash 2) Deron Williams (only averages 2 less pts and 2 less assists than nash in slow temp system, very close to nash imo) 3) Chris Paul 4) Gilbert Arenas 5) Allen Iverson 6) Jason Kidd 7) Chauncey Billups 8) Baron Davis 9) Tony Parker 10) Mike Bibby ______________________ 11) Kirk Heinrich 12) Leandro Barbosa 13) Stephon Marbury 14) Jason Terry 15) Andre Miller 16) TJ Ford 17) Larry Hughes 18) Monte Ellis 19) Shaun Livingston 20) Raymond Felton ______________________ 21) Jamaal Tinsley 22) Luke Ridnour 23) Jason Williams 24) Rafer Alston 25) Mo Williams 26) Jameer Nelson 27) Randy Foye 28) Mike James 29) Smush Parker 30) Vassillis Spanoullis
larry hughes and monta ellis play point guard? didn't know that. imo, randy foyes and mo williams is pretty low. i think their better than rafer and felton at least. lol at vspan iverson is too high for my taste, and jason williams... wow, i forgot about that player. he gets injured too much, so i have nothing to say about that. my top 5, if i was a gm and had to pick a pg. 1. chris paul 2. deron william 3. steve nash (i'm gonna think future like in 5-8 years) 4. gilbert 5. billups or parker to revolve around 1 player, it takes time to make a championship contender team. look at dallas and dirk. took them a while didn't it? rockets didn't win their championship until hakeem was 30. thats why i have paul and william over steve nash. don't get me wrong, if i was thinking of the playoff push, and i was only 1 piece away from championship, i'd pick nash. for the rockets right now, steve nash would be a dream come true. the 3 years left of tracy would all be rings.
Larry Hughes moved to pg recently, monta plays pg off the bench. I forgot about foye and mo williams, so I didnt want to insert they're names and move everyone else down one. They shold be up a little higher I almost did that too (put paul and williams 1-2). Deron puts up almost the same numbers as nash in a slowed down, half-court offense, theat's really impressive. Nash is really only effective as he is on a running team. I just thought everyone would b**** about nash not being #1
Grown ups don't misspell "overrated" and they definately appreciate the gift from the basketball gods called Steve Nash.
Ah. I thought you were going by talent and overall ability there. Maybe that's why V-Span was number 30. But come on.........NO ANDRE MILLER?
I was at first, but I forgot to put his name on and I didnt want to redue the list. I was gonna drop him a little lower than usual because of his injury, and I just forgot about him all together
Actually, there's too much gray these days in catagorizing positions. Aside from a few pure points like Nash, Deron and Kidd, a lot of teams use their other players to do point duties. For example, I think the Rockets' real distributor is actually Tracy even though he's the 2 and 3. Lebron often plays the 1 for the Cavs. And so forth. It's too hard to compile lists like this for this reason.
Many of ya'll very underrate Paul. The NOOKH would be the worst team without him. The are respectable with him (about .500 with him). Don't just look at what he does to us, look what he did to Tony Parker tonight. Williams is outstanding, but Utah would be slightly tougher with Paul IMO and NO would be lesser with DW. Ford and Parker, though very good, are in neithers' (Paul, DW) territory.
One thing is for sure, Williams and Paul will be compared for the rest of their careers. I would go top ten for both of them.
If we only considered those traditional pass-first pg 1) Steve Nash 2) Chris Paul 3) Jason Kidd 4) Deron Williams 5) Andre Miller If we add on those more offensive minded pg, 1) Steve Nash 2) Gibert Arenas 3) Allen Iverson 4) Chris Paul 5) Chauncy Billups 6) Jason Kidd 7) Baron Davies Some say Steve Nash can only play in a running game, but I think he is no.1 because of his vision on the court. He always make the good pass and right decision. Jason Williams can only make some fancy pass but he doesn't make good choices consistently. Yes, I think CONSISTENCY is the key for point guard. Since PG is the one who controls the rhythm on the court. I watched Chris Paul and Deron Williams sometimes when their games are on TNT or ESPN. Well, to me, I think Chris is a better one. That's true, NO sucks without him. Jason Kidd is declining now, maybe he need another challenge to boost his performance again. I have a question tho. I didn't have a chance to watch B.Knight 's game but he always had a lot of assists and with a few turnovers. How does he play? Also about Tinsley? He's a hot prospect a few years ago... He sufferred from injuries these years, how is he now? I personally do not really like T.Parker. I think he's overrated. I admit that he is really fast and can always drive into the paint. Yet, I think Harris (Dallas) and Barbosa (Phx) are both quicker than him.
