Enough with all the damn pessimism, time for some good news to cheer people up!

    Now I may not have as many posts as others on here and might not be as known, but believe me, I'm on here religiously for hours on out everyday like many of you and I'm really getting sick and tired of all this pessimism towards this team. What else do fans want? First off, I hate people (especially dumbass so-called Sports "experts") that bring up the fact that this team has had a drought over a decade long since winning a playoff series. This team has not be together for a decade so whatever has happened during the Francis-era should not be held against the Mac-Ming era. So if you want to argue anything about playoff droughts, then please start from 2004-2005 season when we actually had this team. Furthermore, had the injuries not plagued us last year, I truly believe we would have been at top three-seeded team this year. If you can still remember from the 04/05 season, even with that blow-out in Game 7 against Dallas (every minute of which I watched and still remember) many people including this so-called "experts" had high hopes for the Rockets. What bothers me so much and just annoys me is that people cannot just enjoy watching a team that has good chemistry (especially considering the lack of team to gel together) and that plays enjoyable basketball.

    So many of you must be wondering what this whole thing is about, THIS THREAD IS FOR ALL THE REAL ROCKETS FANS! Not those that will be jumping on the bandwagon once we win a playoff series, not those that will be jumping on the bandwagon once we start rolling in the playoffs (i.e. Charles Barkley, and the whole damn SI/ESPN roster [minus Scoop Jackson who actually picked the Rockets to go deep]), but those fans that stuck around through the Francis-era. Those fans that never stop believing. Fans like myself, who took year after year of taunting because the Lakers were winning trophies while the Rockets were collecting ping pong balls. So enjoy the last month of the season and lets see what happens in the playoffs! Hard work now, pays off later and the Rockets had worked hard all season long.

    So tomorrow night, we I'm at the Clippers vs. Rockets game, among all the Clipper fans in the Staples Center, I will be proud to be sporting my Rockets gear. Proud to be a Rockets fans and proud to have the opportunity watch my Rockets rolling through Los Angeles!

    Nothing like going into an opposing arena and repping your team. Couple years ago, I swear to God I helped us win a game against the Pacers in Conseco Fieldhouse. Jermaine O'neil needed 2 FTs for the win. He swished the first one. Second FT...it's dead silent...except for me. I yell "BRIIIIIIIIICK!" as loud and as long as I've ever yelled anything before. It echoed throughout the arena, there is no doubt every single person heard me. O'neil clangs the freethrow, we win, and me and my buddies hightailed it outta there. Gotta love it.

    Rocks fan for life, no matter what!

    like the previous post said....100% agreed. I can not stand all the negativity on this board after ever lose...I agree with you that we should just enjoy the games. We have a great team who play with heart and pride, by the way, we clinched a playoff spot, why not be proud of our boys and just enjoy the games???

    Any way....stay positive rockets fans

    Yeah, people that criticize the team aren't real fans !!!

    I mean being a fan since they moved from San Diego and played home games in Hofeinz pavilion and Waco, and following the Rockets religiously during all eras, does not grant you fandom.

    Look, I appreciate everyone rooting for the Rockets, but don't think for a moment that because someone is a glass is half full guy they are more of a fan than the glass is half empty people.

    All of us want the same thing.....a Rocket victory.....EVERY SINGLE GAME !!!!

    GO ROCKETS !!!

    PS. In the future, if you want to start a positive thread, then don't start said positive thread by criticizing other fans perspectives. BE POSITIVE !

    I'm just hoping we have a better record that the pistons so that we will have home court advantage in the Finals. ;)

    This just in: The Rockets have clinched a playoff spot. They're probably going to have the fourth or fifth best record. They are the most likely "dark horse" to win the championship. They've got the best perimeter-post combination in the game, and will have them for the next few years. Most of the supporting cast is young. Mutombo is building a great charity hospital in the Congo. There are many reasons for optimism.

    yeah, the trend is disturbing. i've noticed a lot more whinning, complaining and negative ned's.

    personally i cant wait for the rockets to win it all

    this completely contradicts your "disturbing trend post"....Thats not negative? You are bringing up negative aspects of the season instead of being positive about the good things we've done. especially this line - "Right now, I believe they only HOPE to win instead of believe they can win." thats real positive man.......How about we've had trouble against the West so far, but I am confident we will right the ship and finish the year strong.......Thats positive.

    That's not a contradiction, as he admits to be a glass is half-empty guy. What would be a contradiction is Dan DAkota starting a negative thread by first saying "Don't get me wrong; I love all my fellow Rockets fan, but some of you guys are loving on them and JVG a little too much, right now. [followed by a ripping of the Rockets]." I think there are plenty of contradictions like that out there.

    PS. In the future, if you want to start a negative thread, then don't start said negative thread by criticizing other fans perspectives. BE NEGATIVE !

    Here's everything you need to know about the Houston Rockets franchise:

    1> In the last 20 years, only 6 NBA franchises have won championships. Houston won two of those.

    2> 80% of current NBA franchises have not won a championship during that span.

    3> This year's team, despite injuries to both of our two superstars, is tied for the 5th best record in the league. There are two dozen teams with worse records.

    Pessimism? Hardly. The future's so bright, I gotta wear shades. :cool:

    lighten up guys, so what if people get upset after a loss. I get upset, especially when we lost to the likes of Celts. It's just natural.

    I think it's normal to complain and criticize your team. It creates good debates and such.

    There will forever be JVG and Rafer haters. I've gotten used to it.

    Jerome Solomon basically started one on the "Chron" website. I've rarely seen such twisted logic from a sport's journalist.

    Yes, these are good times with the Rockets. You have to enjoy the journey, and you never know what can happen in the playoffs.

    Being critical is part of being a fan, too, however, but we will save that for another thread, since this one is all about praising the Rockets.

    I don't think the team is going anywhere this year, I don't think we can get past the 2nd round, and probably will lose in the first round.

    That is what I THINK !!! I hope I am wrong.
