WTF??? Dead Squirrels keep popping up!

    OK, either my lab has super squirrel hunting powers or someone is playing a cruel joke on me. this is the 4th (YES, THAT'S FOUR) dead squirrel i've found in my driveway the last 2 weeks. and 3 the last 5 days. the other 2 are still in my trash which i could probably dig out but covered in maggots.

    My wife aka: Squirrel Girl, says they look like juviniles that may have fallen out of a nest before they were ready to fend for themselves, or their mom got killed and they had to leave the nest before they were ready and yes they would be easy prey for a dog with a good sense of smell.

    One other thing we had happen was exterminators left those plastic baited traps around for the woodrats; well the squirrels chewed the openings out wide enough to go in and get to the tasty rat bait and got poisoned.

    From what I can tell, what is done in that video is sufficient to qualify as a violation of animal cruelty statutes in most states.

    hmm, that makes sense. the others were bigger than this one and they were all found in the same place. maybe my lab just likes his squirrel meat in a certain place.

    Funny because i'm having some issues with dead rats around here the area. I think they are field rats from the woods but my dogs aren't able to get out of the yard to get there. Those rats must be coming into the yard and finding a huge surprise when they see three Jack Russell Terrors.
